Title is an oversimplification. Basically you have users that need something displayed on the wall at all times. Maybe they need to interact with what's on the screen. Maybe it just needs to display some data that updates itself. But they need to have something in their peripheral vision at all times that is separate from their assigned computer.
Obviously the easiest thing to do in the short term is set up a monitor, attach a computer, then set up some setting that ensures it never logs out but this seems like a waste of an endpoint.
I'm thinking of thin clients remoted into VDI's (that the ..read more

Afternoon All,
I'm a UK based IT service desk manager looking to review our current business mobile contract. I'm struggling to create a shortlist of UK business mobile resellers.
Please could I ask the community for your suggestions of recommended UK business mobile resellers?
Thanks in advance for any input.

I'm having issues with a site published in IIS on a WS 2008 R2 server.
On Chrome/Edge or other chromium based browsers, I get the error "ERR_CONNECTION_RESET", even on phone apps.
But Safari and Firefox works fine, both on windows and phones.
The site is using TLS 1.2, I've tried disabling "TLS 1.3 hybridized Kyber support" which seems to be a recent change that could break connections, but didn't work. I also tried several other options in ://flags but no change.
I know that server is too old but it is what it is... It will be migrated some day but now I have to get this working

So I will tell mine because I look back and I am just FLOORED.
A few years ago I worked for a small MSP.
Basically brought on board to give advice on how to lock down their environment, standardize patching, help out with hardware refreshes, best practices implementations and the gamut.
One thing I was really pushing for right away was for more robust endpoint management tools and also to move away from giving end users Local Admin privileges left and right.
To be honest I kind of inherited a dumpster fire with this MSP.

Have a long-planned scheduled maintenance on our Horizon server farm tomorrow morning and no access to any of my VMware Horizon product downloads. I put in a high priority case with Broadcom, which has a 2-hour SLA, and it has been sitting for 2 days now with no response. I called and they gave me some vague promise about escalating my case, but I have no hope. *sigh*
Someone could save my bacon if you happen to have version 2312.1 (latest) of both the Connection Server and Linux Agent sitting around?

The job search process sucks, I hate linkedin, indeed, random crap job boards. Why isn't there one place on the internet that has ALL the jobs that are actually hiring.
About a year ago, I started working on something to solve exactly this problem, but never launched. I’ve now finally decided to launch it after I was laid off a few months ago.
I built scrapers with scrapy to get jobs directly from company web pages (so there are never any old/spam jobs), and then used GPT 3.5 to summarize and derive insights to help the job seeker find the perfect role.
My eventual goal is to have all the job ..read more

The DOL wants to add "STEM" occupations to Schedule A which would allow companies to completely circumvent PERM work search requirements.
This article has a good analysis.
The department of labor's rfi has more details.
Public comment can be made here.
They specifically want comments to be relevant to this but let them know what you feel. BTW, the analysis there is nonsense. I don't have time to debunk it but anyway...

I'm torn, it's a nice pay increase, closer to home, but I have not had good interactions with lawyers, all the ones I met are either incompetent with tech or snobby dolts
Not sure I want to manage dealing with 100 of them ?
EDIT: I have been convinced they are the devil and should be struck down by an asteroid :D
