Wahclella Falls Columbia River Gorge Proposal Wahclella Falls Columba River Gorge Proposal…Wahclella Falls is easily one of my hands down favorites in the Columbia River Gorge. I often photograph proposals a few times a month at the various falls. It’s a bit tougher in winter with the rain but now that spring has begun the trails and falls are really coming into their own. The rains have them absolutely pumping from winter but the nicer weather is allowing people to get out and enjoy them more. So as always I was more than stoked to go for a quick Saturday morning hike to Wahclella to captu ..read more

Oregon Coast Best Elopement Location

Best Oregon Coast Elopement Location I call this the Best Oregon Coast Elopement Location because it is hands down my favorite on the coast. The south coast is admittedly more epic than the north coast but most folks aren’t willing to drive down to remote parts of the coast for epic views. Typically people fly into Portland and want to elope somewhere relatively close. This spot checks that box and still provides pretty epic views with a ton of convenience since it’s just outside of Cannon Beach. Literally a 10 minute drive from the breweries and hotels. Travis and Sarah came from the midwes ..read more

Mt Baker Artist Point Elopement Been a long summer of shooting and I’m just now trying to get some blogs caught up after months of being out in some really rad locations…and with that…this Mt. Baker Artist Point elopement was a blast. Artist Point located near Mt. Baker in the North Cascades is hands down my favorite location to shoot. Chris and Brittany had never been but saw my previous elopements there and fell in love with this location. I shoot up there quite often during the summer months when the road is clear of snow. This year was a late start and much of the area was covered under ..read more

Trillium Lake Wedding Shoot This Trillium Lake Wedding shoot with Bhavik and Disha was such a fun time. I photographed their wedding about a month before in downtown Portland but they wanted some really great portraits outside of the city for their wedding day portraits. A compromise was struck and we decided to do a session at one of my favorite Mt Hood outdoor venues, Trillium Lake. They also brought their dog Comet who I made sure to include in a few photos even though Comet is decidely not photo friendly haha. Trillium Lake Wedding shoots are always a blast. I’ve photographed Trillium La ..read more

Falls Creek Falls Elopement This Falls Creek Falls Elopement was a perfect day. It’s far and away my favorite waterfall in the Columbia River Gorge area. It’s on the Washington side but a quick drive from Carson, WA. The hike in is just over 2 miles and it’s a steady uphill but very moderate for most people. It ends with the best waterfall in the region if you ask me. Michelle and Clement flew in from Canada to elope in the gorge. I also had the honor of officiating their elopement. It’s always fun for me when I get to officiate and sign the paperwork. We lucked out with insanely good weathe ..read more

Diablo Lake Engagement Session Amy and Rein are getting married in Portland but wanted an epic spot for their engagement photos. The north cascades are always my first choice for big mountain views. The first time we had their session scheduled we got rained out really bad. This whole spring has been insanely wet. Luckily on the second go around we got lucky and only had a little rain AND snow but it came with a great sunset and a rainbow so it was definitely a fair trade. I love recommending the North Cascades Diablo Lake In North Cascades National Park is a rad spot for a small weddin ..read more

Cascades and Family I loved this Latourell Falls elopement with Brittany and Brian. They flew in from Florida to elope at their favorite waterfall surrounded by family. They rented a cute airbnb in Portland and decided to have their closest friends/family fly in to celebrate the weekend with them. A few of the family members couldn’t make it because of Covid concerns but thanks to smart phones they were able to at least witness the important parts of the day. Brittany and Brian didn’t want any getting ready photos but they did have one request that I capture their “first look” but instead o ..read more

Rivers and Peaks When people thing of a Mt Hood National Forest Elopement their immediate thought is of the big sprawling mountain. And while Mt Hood is glorious, the national forest around it is huge and sprawling full of amazing campsites and hiking trails next to rivers and streams. So when Josh and Samantha emailed me initially they knew they wanted a place in the forest that was easily accessible for their grandparents but still somewhere to capture the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Luckily you can drive down just about any backroad out here and find a location that fits the bill. M ..read more

2021 Year in Review 2021 was a wild year. Covid, reschedules from the year before, changing directions and focusing on small weddings/elopements. It was a lot to digest. So I wanted to make a post and go through some of my favorite moments from the last year and give a little back story to each. They aren’t going to be all epic photos but they were meaningful and some of my personal favorites from the last year. I I hope you enjoy! I shoot a lot of Hoyt Arboretum weddings/elopements. This one was during peak covid so it was super duper small. Just the family. These two were so sweet and ..read more

Mt Adams Wedding This late summer Mt Adams wedding was what every small to midsize wedding should be. If you have under 50 people just copy this playbook and you’ll be set. book an awesome location focus on family and food just let loose and have a blast Originally when I booked these two they made it a point to tell me they just wanted to have a great day with their friends and family and really wanted to hire me for candids(what I usually get hired for). Driving out to the location I knew I was in for a treat because the house was located in one of my favorites spots out here in the PNW ..read more
