Born as the second child and only daughter to Chinga Mukisi (mother) and Mufaya Lukonga (father) on September 27, 2008 in Zambia, Africa. The American Vitiligo Research Foundation (AVRF) was founded in 1995 and is the oldest vitiligo charity!
Founder Stella Pavlides received an exquisite Hermes mug as a gift a few years ago from childhood friend Shermane who is now deceased. This mug has never been used but it was in Stella’s curio cabinet. Out of her commitment to helping those with vitiligo, she decided to raise money for the AVRF by asking for donations. How important is the emotional factor in your vitiligo or skin issue? The more of these questions you answer yes, the more significant the factor.
Ask yourself:
1. Do your symptoms get worse–or better–with emotional turmoil?
2. Is your condition more stubborn, severe, or recurrent than your doctor expects?
3. Are usually effective treatments not working for you?
4. Do most treatments work but not for long?
5. Is each disappearing symptom quickly replaced with another?
6. Do your symptoms get better or worse in a very erratic, seemingly nonsensical way?

Remember Nashville Mom Scarlet and Her Son Leo? Well Leo’s vitiligo is doing great with Recouleur®.
