It doesn't matter if you're black or white or both. Vitiligo is an auto-immune disease that leads to de-pigmentation of the skin in the form of random spots on the face and body. It is genetic and environmental factors like stress are known to accelerate it. Share your success stories and help others who may have just been diagnosed.

Hello all! I was wondering if any of you guys got acne from using ointment on your face and what treatments you use to heal the acne? I used to use benzoyl peroxide on my acne before my diagnosis but not sure if that’s safe to use!

How often do most people get new spots? Is it normal to get a few new ones every year or does it usually spread more slowly? Thank you

I have like a few strands that are completely white (vitiligo) but then there's also more and more white hair kinda dispersed, and I'm wondering whether that's vitiligo too or if I'm just double-cursed to also go grey super young.
Is there a way to tell vitiligo-white hair vs. grey hair due to age apart?
Things I specifically wonder about age-grey hair is: Does it come in all uniform, or does it also have it's areas where it starts out first or is stronger? And does grey hair actually have different shades of grey? So if all white hairs are 100% white, is it then most likely vitiligo?

Hey.
Background:
I am 18M. I have vitiligo around my nose, eyes, and forehead. I have had it since 2018. I have tried multiple treatment methods but were never consistent with the treatment. With time the spots went smaller and lighter and I was heading it self. Around 30% of my vitiligo went away over time but now for the 70% spots left I am using Kernel Photo Therapy UV device and I also take d3 vitamin 35,000IU.
Questions
Q1: What can I change or improve about my treatment method
Q2: Because I have vitiligo around my eye so is it safe to use UV light there with my eye closed?
Q3: I have h ..read more

My story:
Back in 2021, when I was just 20, I spotted a small white patch on my arm. Didn't think much of it until another showed up on my face, sending me into a panic. So, off I went to see a dermatologist. But in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appointment, he dropped the bomb: vitiligo. No cure, just learn to live with it. I cannot express to you how overwhelmed and alone I felt at that moment. When I got back home, I couldn't shake the thought of what I might look like in the future, seeing pictures of others with the condition and struggling to accept that I might end up looking like them.

Hi All,
I was wondering if any other vitiligo suffers have experienced the same issue...
Some background: I developed my vitiligo just as we were coming out of the pandemic and over the years the size of the patches has fluctuated. In the past 5-6 weeks, the patches have seen an exponential increase on their size and spread (appearing more semetrical now).
The issue/ question: During the 5-6 period I referred above, about 40-50% of the patches feel dry to the touch. Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Are there any particularly effective moisturisers or emollients others have used eith vi ..read more
