You can rant, and talk shit here if you want… I’m frustrated too. But I’m genuinely curious what the is going on in the coaches room. Atleast with the pitching we know, it’s attack the zone whatll be will be. I’ve watched a majority of the games this year, and all I’ve got as their general strategy is swing out of your shoes, and hopefully you’ll run into a pitch. Not to mention Julio trying to drive a baseball to the earths core with all his might every at bat.

Does anyone else feel like the coaching staff might be using too much analytics? I heard Scott talk about a “hunt the green box” approach they had which sounds kinda silly like what if the pitchers switch up their gameplay and stop throwing in the green box lol. I think they are over complicating things for the hitters. A simple “this guy throws fastball 40% of the time so hunt the fastball and protect against off speed” would probably have better results than what they’re putting up right now and lack of intimidation is only making pitchers pitch better against them imo.

With 38 games into the season, Mariners are averaging 10.5 SO/game. They are currently on pace to strikeout just over 1700 times, which would break the single season record of most strikeouts by a team.
The 2023 Mariners stuck out the second most times in single season.

Random question - we are big M’s fans but our little kids’ bedtime is around 7:30 and they aren’t able to watch a lot of the games (we live locally). What fun team should we watch and root for whose games we could stream on mlb.tv, that would be earlier in the day? Midwest or east coast probably? Thanks for your recommendations

Up and down the lineup strikeouts are a huge issue.
We went into the offseason trying to cut down strikeouts and after the player changes we’re now striking out MORE.
So if nothing changes where do we go from here? Simply another middling offseason to try again? Or does the front office just need to do a complete overhaul?
