EDGERTON — Russell-Tyler-Ruthton and Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian are two of the finest Class A softball programs in the entire state. The Pipestone Area Schools softball team allowed just two earned runs in a doubleheader sweep over Jackson County Central on Thursday, April 25. Pitchers Mariah Moeller and Kaysa Douty thrilled the fans with lock-down performances, including Douty’s one-hitter versus the Huskies in Game Two. The Arrows erupted for six runs in the bottom of the fourth during Game One, ultimately winning 7-1. The schedule was rougher last week for the Pipestone Area Schools baseball team, which included a game against state-ranked Windom on Tuesday, April 23. Big South Conference games versus Worthington and Windom were wild, with both games accounting for a garish 29 runs in each contest.
