At long last we’ve brought Reminders to Nirvana’s mobile apps. Set a date/time to be reminded of a pending to-do, and you’ll receive a push-notification when that moment arrives.

Nerd alert: this post is technical.
We’ve spent the better part of the past year reworking the underpinnings of our mobile and desktop apps. It’s been quite a slog but worth it.
Nirvana was one of the earliest proponents of the Progressive Web App movement. In fact, the term hadn’t been coined yet when we dove in! And as is often the case with being on the bleeding edge of early adoption, we’d accumulated quite a bit of cruft that needed clearing out.

A quick maintenance release for the web app to fix an issue on Windows 10 where pressing the windows key was triggering the left nav to run up towards the Inbox.

You should now be able to windows+tab around (as one often does) and still find Nirvana as you left it when you come back.

I wanted to take a moment to reflect on a challenging year, and express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you.
In an odd way the pandemic made our world feel smaller and more intimate — not just because we seemed to be in each other’s living rooms over Zoom, but perhaps the collective struggle of this pandemic helped many of us rediscover our commonalities, our vulnerabilities, our humility, our humanity.

Keyboard navigation enhancements
Select tasks with up / down arrow keys;
shift+up / shift+down to select multiple tasks;
option+up / option+down to move selected tasks;
With tasks selected, right arrow to show notes, left arrow to hide notes, enter to edit, then enter to save changes;
n key inserts a new task just below a selected task;
