Historically, pool frogs were present in Britain, but following loss and damage to their habitats the species sadly went extinct in the UK. We are working with partners to reintroduce pool frogs to their last known home county. In 1989, Spanish red kites were sent to Britain to help save our red kite population. But now the species are sadly in decline in Spain. ZSL has helped to translocate 30 red kites from Britain to Spain, in a bid to save the Mediterranean population.
