This is mating season and at this time of the year bucks are extremely territorial and very dangerous to your pets and even to humans. Last week, my friend’s beloved dog was attacked by a buck and, unfortunately, died from her injuries. This could happen to anyone, so please be aware of your surroundings and if you see a buck make sure your dog does not chase it because the result could be disastrous. Well, as far as Trump’s followers think, not so much. But the Midterm elections proved that the influence on undecided voters of this distorted reality has dramatically diminished. His handpicked believers lost. Election deniers slated to win State and County posts, where election results are determined, lost their midterm run. Republicans who rejected and sought to overturn the 2020 presidential election results, lost nearly every statewide race in which they sought to take control over how elections are run, a result hailed as a significant victory for free and fair elections in the US (New ..read more

Dianne Feinstein, the politics of 2023 in California shapes up as a time of careful positioning by a horde of fellow Democrats angling for the 89-year-old Feinstein’s job. If he likes, Gov. Gavin Newsom can control this scene. He has reportedly told President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris he will not run against either in 2024. That makes Newsom seem prepared for at least five years of waiting, something he did very well while serving as lieutenant governor for the eight years of Jerry Brown’s final two terms as g ..read more

Marc Cuniberti: The market is still looking backwards
The Union | News headlines for Grass Valley and Nevada City California
by Marc CunibertiColumnist

Bad news on stock can bring out the hammer, bad news in the entire sector can slam all stocks that are in that sector, the entire market could be having a bad day or just the fact that a stock or sector has been going up a ..read more
