I was about to go on a bicycle trip in Taiwan. It was only 5 p.m., but darkness had already arrived. I took a picture with the 101 building, the symbol of Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, and then I left to find a camping spot.   Since I’ve been staying at a hostel, I really wanted to go camping for the first time in a while. However, when darkness came, it was not easy to find a wild camping spot. For the first time since traveling the world, I pitched a tent in an open public park. I talked to a middle-aged woman at the river, and she said Taipei is safe and I could pitch a tent here. A ..read more

I took a small propeller plane and headed from Fiji to Vanuatu. During my trip in Fiji, I got to know many new countries in the South Pacific, and one of them was Vanuatu. Just in time, I decided to go there because the border was being opened.   When I look at a new country through the window of an airplane right before landing, I always feel both nervousness and excitement with thought of “How can I cycle over there?”   Fiji Airlines gave me a few challenges because of taking a bike on the plane. However, it seems to be very good in that it connects all the island countries in t ..read more

The pandemic began in 2020, and by the end of that year, it seemed like it would never end. However, the world gradually started reopening in 2022. I was excited to travel to a new country after being stranded in Australia for two years. Upon arriving in Nadi, Fiji, I discovered that the bicycle box was broken in two pieces. Luckily, nothing inside was damaged or lost.   As Fiji is a small island country, not many people come for a bicycle tour. Direct flights from Australia and New Zealand take 3 to 4 hours, attracting mainly Australian and New Zealand tourists.   After arriving ..read more

(This post has been written by Stephanie Vandenberg, an Australian traveler and freelance writer after a conversation with Jin. ) Learn local culture and customs Although you will inevitably stand out, try to blend in where you can. Check what the local women and girls are wearing. If you notice they are wearing skirts below their knees and their shoulders are covered, it can be wise to do the same. Depending on the area, it may simply show that you are being respectful of local traditions by dressing in a similar way to others. If in doubt, listen to locals when they offer advice on what you ..read more

Australia was nearly the last country on my trip after cycling in North America, Central and South America, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, China, Southeast Asia, New Zealand. But then the pandemic had started. After spending a few months in Sydney, I rode my bike from Sydney to Brisbane via the Gold Coast. When I was in Brisbane, I spent over a month studying app development at the library. Afterwards, I returned to the Gold Coast.   The reason I studied app development was I wanted to fill my mind with something and prepare the future after the traveling.       By coi ..read more

In this post, I will compare Liquid Stove with a Gas Stove. For a liquid Stove, I am having MSR Whisperlite International which I bought in 2014. The pump is one year old. Last year I tried to fix it when the fuel leaked. Then I broke the valve. For a gas stove, I am having Coleman peak1 which I bought last year   500ml(16oz) Boiling Time & Burn Time I’ve tested for boiling time of 500ml and also burning time how long it lasts. The result will vary as depending on altitude, temperature, wind, and products. For the gas stove, when there was wind it took 4 minutes 30 seconds to boil 50 ..read more
