As we approach the end of the CX season with only a couple of events left, it's time to reflect on the season and as part of that the Scottish Cyclo-cross Association Committee would love to hear the views and opinions of younger riders.
Before all that though, if you haven't already done so get your entries in for the Doonbank Trophy and the Strathallan Castle CX.
Once you've entered those races it would be much appreciated if you can find 5 minutes to complete this brief questionnaire about the 2022 - 2023 CX season. This includes questions about races but also about the R.A.C.E N ..read more

V40M Series Leader Douglas Cameron racing to secure his overall victory at Leslie Bike Shop Fife Colllege CX
After two years lost to the Covid pandemic, the Scottish Cyclocross Association set out at the last AGM the simple objective of having a Scottish Series of ranking races. This goal was achieved yesterday with the season finale at the Leslie Bike Shop Fife College Cross in Dunfermline!
And what a series it was! Some cracking new courses as well as some equally cracking old favourites. Two new innovations were women only races and the series-leader yellow number, both receiving very posi ..read more

The coveted yellow number of the series leader has been welcomed by both riders and spectators alike. With only one race left in the series, most of the categories could still change hands depending on the outcome of the final SCX Series race at Fife College, Dunfermline on 12th December.
Perhaps the most closely fought battle is between Sian Tovey and Maddy Pope in the V40F category, where if the result from Kinneil X is repeated they will tie on points and the tie-break rules will come into play!
The current series standings are here and the tie-break rules are ..read more

Attention!! Race Timings for SCX Round 4 at Irvine are different from the previous rounds. We previously announced that the Junior men will now race with the V40M and Irvine will be the first round that this happens. The organisers at Irvine were also very keen to try and increase participation for the youngest riders and as an experiment just for Irvine, the 3 morning races have been moved forward by 25 minutes to make room for the U8/10/12 races to happen at lunchtime. The 2 afternoon races are at the same time as usual. This will mean different travel times for a lot of riders - please rea ..read more

A strong contingent of Scottish riders headed south yesterday to test themselves in the 58th 3 Peaks cyclocross - the hardest CX race on the planet.
Cold but calm weather with a bit a mist and drizzle on the tops gave good conditions for racing. The first of our riders home was Gary MacDonald of Nevis Cycles RT who mixed it up at the front of the race to eventually come in 5th in just over the 3hr mark after getting lost in the mist at one point and riding much of the route on his own.
But it was in the women’s field ..read more

As the XC and road racing seasons draw to a close and with the first Youth CX event at Linlithgow already behind us, we are now just a week away the first Scottish Cyclocross Series race of the season at Muir of Ord.
After the pandemic prevented a SCX series being run in 2020 and 2021, the Scottish Cyclocross Committee and the various race organisers are looking forward to an exciting resumption of the series in 2022, kicking off at Muir of Ord before moving on to Lochore Meadows, Brechin, Irvine, Dundee and Castle Douglas. Alongside these Scottish series rounds, details of standalone races a ..read more

Katie Turbitt has recently taken on a challenging new job working with the Scottish Government and has regretfully concluded that she no longer has enough time to do justice to her role as Media Officer on the Scottish Cyclocross Association committee and has therefore resigned.
Katie joined the committee in February 2020 - just before some rather turbulent times! During that period Katie was heavily involved in the thankless task of migrating the SCX website to a new platform, and of course looking after our social media accounts. We will miss her on the committee and thank her very much for ..read more
