My newly 4 year old was back at the track after no riding in winter. He seems to be trying to bend his knees and feeling out how to pump! It should be a summer of a lot of progress! It will be exciting to see when he gets the timing right. submitted by /u/discerningdesign [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

So my son has been riding the pump track at our local bmx race track on his tiny little 14" street bike and he's having a hard time on some of the features with how small the bike is. We are buying him a used Haro micro mini race lite with 18" tires tomorrow. The bike has 110 mm cranks on it which I think are going to be too big. So I will have to get cranks I'm sure. My son is in the 15th percentile for height and weight. He's 41" tall with a 17" inseam with shoes on. So based on research on the calculations he should be on a 100-105 mm crank instead of 110? Sorry I'm totally ignorant to bmx ..read more

What’s everyone 6’3+ riding? Pretty sure I’d like to try a 23” top tube but finding used in that size is nearly impossible. Chromoly vs aluminum? Bike will see majority of the time at a pump track, the rest an actual race track. submitted by /u/JimUnderwood69 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

He went from barely riding a strider to learning how to ride a peddle bike and now he's on the pump track in less than a month! Shout out to Black Mountain BMX for being awesome. ? submitted by /u/bitchinawesomeblonde [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Looking for options

Looking to get into race bmx. I'm 40 years old. Not worried about being really competitive. I've been riding freestyle since I was a kid. I've been looking at three different bikes. The Redline pro xl. The Meybo clipper pro xl, or the Meybo pro xxl. I'm 6ft. 205lbs. For reference I ride a Fit 22 freestyle bike with a 22" top tube. Also have a 21.5 top tube bike that feels a little small but still comfortable. I don't want to get a bike that's too small, but I don't want one that's bigger than I need. Any help would be greatly appreciated. submitted by /u/Cubix8080 [visit reddit] [comment ..read more

Cruiser Complete - Haro Lite?

Hey everyone - looking to get back into riding my local track now that I have kids that are interested in riding/racing. I’ve been out of the game for a while and came back to see a lot has changed. Is the Haro Race Lite Pro 24” worth it? Work will cover the cost of the bike up to $1k, so I have some wiggle room, but not much after taxes and shipping. I also have a Sunday Model-C for messing around off the track, and a 20” Standard 125R from way back in the day that I intend to rebuild. I imagine the Haro would be the bike I ride most often at the pump track/local race track. For context, I’m ..read more

Parent to 10 year old boy who started racing 8 months ago. Based in south east Australia. What tips do you have around eating / snacks for race meets? Some meets can be more than 5 or so hours so important to keep energy levels up. I want to avoid the sugar rush then inevitable crash. What tips have you got for long events to keep kids fuelled up? Have tried fruit, cookies, glucose gummies all with mixed results. Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/Impressive_Manner779 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
