Toby Henderson has been splitting time between top-dog duties at Box Components, and a many-hats role at the American BMX Company, which revived and reimagined the Race inc. line of products. This week, Toby posted a press release on social media channels stating the following (edited slightly by News for brevity): Toby Henderson Announces Departure from American BMX Company Aft ..read more

Cuts Like a Knife…(But it Feels So Right).
BMX News

One thing we know about our local BMX track is there are ALWAYS things we’d like to change. “That turn isn’t ‘bowled-out’ enough”…”Why is the gate so slow/fast/slippery?”…”Can’t they post motos faster?”…”Can’t they have better food at concessions?” The “they” behind it all isn’t some amorphous government agency…it’s a dedicated group of volunteers who work their tails off to put on a race week after week, season after season, year after year—and, for some, decade after decade. So when a local-track family goes to another track, and posts on social media about how the new (to them) track is SO ..read more

Photoset and Race Report: Rock Island, IL Gold Cup

Racing BMX indoors on concrete was how those of us who lived above the frost line used to roll in the winter, during the early days of BMX. Wooden jumps were built to simulate those of the outdoor variety (mostly tabletops, but not all), and there was even some flirtation with wooden turns. In the “modern era,” we now have a few indoor on dirt tracks dotting the fruited plain, but they are spread pretty far apart in Minnesota, Indiana and Ohio. For the past 11 years, during the month of December, East Moline (IL) track operator Paul DePauw rents out the QCCA Expo Center for the whole month, pl ..read more

Photoset: 2021 Grands Sunday
BMX News
by Mike Carruth

With all apologies for the delay, we are pleased to present our photoset from Sunday at the 2021 USA BMX Grand National. This was the largest BMX race of all time, with an eye-popping 956 motos. Hard to imagine that it was all fit in to two calendar days. The “what happens when it hits 1000 motos or more?” article is soon to come, but for today, let’s all rejoice in the fact that BMX Racing is strong in America, and still leads the world in participation and fervor. For those of us who were in Tulsa, it lived up to every-bit of it’s moniker “The Greatest Race on Earth,” and toss-in the Super B ..read more
