Renny Roker one of the Industry nominees 2018. In June 2018 the USA BMX Hall of Fame did publish the names of the nominees in their respectif categories. In the Industry section one of the nominees is Renny Roker (Jag BMX). I know most of the Industry nominees personal, also Renny Roker. One think I can say is, that because of the 1979 en 1980 Jag BMX World Championships in Indianapolis-USA, finaly the I.BMX.F. saw the light of day in 1981, which organization integrated into the UCI in 1996. Dear friends in BMX, 40 years ago, the sport of BMX (Bicycle Moto-Cross) was introduced in The Netherlands and Europe as an official registered sport. Around 3 years later BMX turned into an international world wide sport through the I.BMX.F.  And it was after the merge with the UCI that BMX became an Olympic sport in 2008. 40 years of development of riders, events, officials have past and in my opinion we can all look back with pride of what has been achieved. On June 18th, a special documentary on Dutch BMX has been shown on Dutch National TV, NPO 1 at 22.15 hours. This 30 minutes docu will tell people about the introduction, start and developments in Holland over time on Bicycle Moto-Cross. BMX was introduced by Gerrit Does early 1978 in Holland and coordinated activities European wide in Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden the first couple of years since 1978. During a visit in October 2016 to the Dutch "BMX MUSEUM" of Old Skool BMX'er Mike Janssen, I saw the following objects that I thought were worth while showing to you all. Shown below the BMX MUSEUM logo with in front a prototype ONE Bicycles frame, donated to the museum by Christian v.d. Groenendaal, owner of ONE Bicycles.   EPPO magazine was a childrens magazine that was issued at schools. In the '80's EPPO started a BMX team in cooperation with former moto-cross Champion Pierre Karsmakers. Here two pictures of concept drawings for rider uniforms and painting the team bus. Groesbeek-Holland, Today the Dutch National Championship Cross-country ATB/MTB/VTT took place in the small town of Groesbeek near the city of Arnhem in Holland. Corine Dorland, the QUEEN of BMX with in total 10 World titles, could win here another Dutch National Title as she did last year, in ATB/MTB/VTT cross-country. She almost did, however, a few hundred meter and out of sight of officials, here main competitor van de Brand, T-boned Corine in on of the last tight turns. With only a tenth of a second mrs. Seen here a page from an American Magazine calledd "BMX PLUS" issue October 1985 were it is announced that Gerrit Does will retire as General Secretary from the I.BMX.F. ending 1985. He made the announcement during the annnual congress at the I.BMX.F. Worlds in Whistler - Canada, 1985. He stated: I have layed down the foundation for this world wide organization and worked on this for 5 years. It's now time for other to take over. I normaly set a goal for myself and within a timeschedule of around 5 years that goals has te be achieved. Then other can take over and make things better. Good luck ..read more
