The US Senate has officially passed the foreign aid package that also contained a bill that could ban the social media app, TikTok, in the US. It is the final nail in the coffin of its parent company, ByteDance: divest, sell its ownership of the platform to a US entity, or get the banhammer. The voting of the TikTok bill was passed faster than the previous bill, primarily because it was part of a foreign aid package that would help Ukraine and Israel, and provide humanitarian aid to Gaza. The bill will now head over to President Biden’s desk, where he is more or less committed to signing the ..read more

Valve, the owner of the digital distribution game platform, Steam, will no longer offer the no-questions-asked refunds for any game you buy on Steam. Effectively immediately, games purchased via Advanced Access or Early Access and played said game for more than two hours will count against the current limit. Valve is basically closing the loophole to its refund policy: before the amendment, gamers could play for several hours, ahead of the title’s official launch date and still request a refund after. All because the game wasn’t technically nor officially available on Steam yet. We have offen ..read more

Intel recently issued a series of patches, primarily for its yet unreleased ARC Battlemage GPU series. As per the notes, the patches have removed support for Ultra-High BitRate (UHBR) 20 Gbps and replaced it with support for UHBR13.5 which, as the designation suggests, caps the bitrate at just 13.5 Gbps. For context, DisplayPort 2.1 outlines three transmission rates: UHBR10, UHBR13.5, and UHBR20. 10 Gbps is the bare minimum and is already being used in DisplayPort 1.4 specs, while the other two are optional and require the use of different cable specs known as DP80. The Apple Vision Pro is a pricey mixed-reality headset that’s currently only available in the US, even if there are signs of it entering other markets. Samsung unveiled its unique Music Frame speakers earlier this year at CES and now, the innovative product has finally made its way to Malaysian shores. The idea behind it is that you can put a proper speaker in your living room without it aggressively standing out from your decor by disguising it with a printed photo or artwork. The Music Frame is a wireless 18W speaker that doesn’t have a screen but it also pulls double duty as, literally, a photo frame, which you can furnish with any photo of your choice and even swap out the bezels. Despite its flat square design, the brand claims that it ..read more
