Stray Kittens in West Palm Beach

I recently moved here from Montana, so I'm not too familiar with the area. Does anyone know of someplace that may take in 3 stray kittens? Peggy Adams was my first thought, but they told me no. The mother hasn't returned to them and they appear to be about 2 or 3 weeks old. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I may do? Thank you! submitted by /u/Objective-Fill4680 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Abandoned land

So there is an abandoned 1/2 acre next to my acre. The previous owner hasn’t payed the taxes in 3 years. Can I still buy the tax certificates and own it in 7 years? The taxes on it are less than $120 a year so it’s dirt cheap. It’s useless because there is an easement that splits it in half for a gas company so you can’t really build on it. It would only be beneficial to an adjoining property. submitted by /u/Complete_Iron_8349 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Homeowners Insurance SKYROCKETING!!!
Florida | Reddit

I know raising homeowners insurance is normal. Especially if you have had any claims. But I spoke to 2 different coworkers yesterday who both said their insurance went up so much their mortgage payment went up $600/mo for one $800/mo for the other (due to shortage in escrow so I'm sure it's taxes too..but come on). Does this sound right?? That sounds illegal to me...curious if anyone else here is dealing with this issue? Hearing their stories scared me so I looked at my renewal (in June) and found my insurance will be increasing $300/yr.. That won't increase my mortgage THAT much but I'm alre ..read more

Coconut trees are pretty but you don't want to stand under one. If one of the coconuts falls, it could put a big knot on your head. Or worse

Registration is up by a year - What to do?

I stupidly let my vehicle registration expire for over a year.. I thought I did the two year registration, didn't, changed addresses and missed the notice, was stupid. Anyway, I'm going to get it straightened out at the Pinellas County tax collector tomorrow. What should I expect? I saw online that I'll likely get a citation since it's a first time offense. Has anybody been through this before? What is this going to look like when I show up? I know not to drive that vehicle until it's cleared up since that's now a misdemeanor. submitted by /u/CVK327 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Insurance Rapidly Increasing

I’m sure many are familiar w/ this situation. But - My insurance has doubled+ over the past 5 yrs. Originally 5k now I’m close to 13k. Just got out of a meeting saying to budget for another rise of 30% for rates in the fall when I reenroll. Does anyone know of any charts over the say past 20 yrs for graphs in what insurance averages have risen? I can’t really plan on my fixed costs anymore as they aren’t really really reflecting the past financials I pulled on this property. I’m just trying to get a better understanding if this is now my new normal of fixed costs rising 30% yearly as the only ..read more
