An investigation by Which? has shown that the information provided by price comparison sites contains a number of discrepancies compared to what’s actually detailed in the policy itself. They’ve stated that 60% of the policies brought up by the site had a detail present in the description which differed from the policy documents. This means that customers are being misled into obtaining the policy based on false information, meaning they could be unwittingly left without essential insurance features. From 8th April 2019, Central London will be introducing an Ultra-Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) to tackle the problem of excessive air pollution in the city. Once this has been initiated, there are further plans to extend this to include the inner London area bounded by the North and South Circular Roads. This will come into place from 25th October 2021. Electric car owners should unplug their cars when not is use during lockdown to avoid the risk of battery damage, say experts. Keeping an EV permanently on charge could cause issues, leasing company Arval warns. A consultant to the firm, David Watts, said it’s good practice to only charge to 80 percent battery capacity, if 100 percent isn’t required for your journey. This will “reduce battery degradation and maintain its efficiency over time”.
