I've been driving EV's for five years now. Started with an Ioniq and now onto a Polestar2. For the last six months my right knee...accelerator leg as were right hand drive here, has been causing me issues.
It's an ITB issue which is inflammation of of the tendon on the outside of the knee near the fibula. I'm not a runner or cyclist and am not exercising in any way that should cause this.
I'm starting to suspect it's the settings I use on the car. I have the polestar with creep mode turned off and full Regen on so I hardly ever use the brakes. What instead happens is that I end up in traffic ..read more

Electric cars have really impressive power outputs, but would their range increase if manufacturers made electric cars with around the normal 80-180 ish horsepower range that ICE vehicles usually have?

Now, even with these relatively low costs, and using NMCA chemistry for cathode, which while uses a cheaper aluminum material, but is somewhat expensive to manufacture, but under high temperature use, repeated fast charging, and cold temp performance from which it is expected that GM will save $$ on batteries when other EV manufa ..read more

I am trying to retrofit a 150cc Chinese go kart from GY6 4-stroke engine to an electric motor.
The one I am wanting to use is slightly undersized and will most likely overheat. It is a permanent magnet brushless DC motor rated at 3000 watts or 4HP running off 56V. The GY6 engine is rated at 8-10 HP. I plan on using two different speed controllers but fed from the same throttle and share the same batteries. 14s4p for 56V.
Can I have 2 motors connected with chain drive to a single axle to help share the load and reduce overheating or will RPM be too dissimilar, and one motor will produce drag a ..read more
