I have used a lot of mitts in my almost 20 years of Muay Thai training. Twins, Fairtex, Venum, Ringside, Title, Pro-mex, Boon, and the list goes on and on. When it comes to boxing mitts, I really enjoy micro mitts. I like the small style of them and they are great for working on accuracy, Another great appeal to them is that they pack very easily, so even if you are going to travel and have limited space, they can still be stowed away in your backpack and not take up half the pack, or even 80% if you were talking Thai Pads. One of THEE most important pieces of equipment for Muay Thai training is a quality pair of gloves. When you are just starting out, sure, use the loaner pair at the gym or buy a $25-$35 pair at a local sporting goods shop. But if you are serious about training, having a quality pair of gloves is key, no matter if you are training Muay Thai, kickboxing, boxing or MMA. A good pair of gloves can be an investment but it shouldn’t break your bank account or mean that you have to eat instant noodles for a month to be able to afford them.
