Day two of the Galway Festival and we have our first runners of the week with four declared today.   Mystical Affair runs in the 7:05 and she’ll need to step forward a good deal to play a part today. She’s a lovely filly with a likeable forward attitude but this is a competitive maiden and she’ll improve for the experience. Geological and Red Avenger both run in the big handicap of the day, the Colm Quinn BMW Mile Handicap at 7:40. They are both in very good form at home although the ground is slower than ideal for both. But with the big pot on offer, we’re happy for them to take their ch ..read more

A busy night at Naas with five runners declared. In the 6:55 we run Bluesbreaker and Master Bond. Bluesbreaker ran very well at Fairyhouse on Sunday showing signs of his old self, he came out of that race well so we thought we’d give him another chance this evening with the hope he builds on that performance again. Conor Hoban rides. Also in the 6:55 we run Master Bond, we’re still getting to know this lad and although we see his future over seven furlongs, he has smart sprinting form and like Bluesbreaker came out of his last race really well. Declan McDonagh rides. In the 8:00 Barbel makes h ..read more

We’re not as busy on day two of Bellewstown with just three runners set to go to post as Dance Alone is a non-runner after picking up a stone bruise this morning.   Tribal Path returns to the scene of his last win in the 6:25 and is in great form as ever. You will all know by now that this lad just absolutely loves the game and we expect another bold show as he looks to defend his crown at his home track. Course form is very important here and there was an abundance of evidence yesterday of good horses losing their chances when not handling this unique course. Although the two three-year ..read more

A busy day today as we run seven at our local track Bellewstown. In the 5:35 we have four runners with Barbel making his debut for the yard and La Fee Verte making her seasonal debut. Idlers Dream and Bluesbreaker complete the quartet, Idlers Dream is doing well at home and things just haven’t fallen right for her on the track in three runs this season, last time out at the Curragh when stepping up to 7f for the first time she had to run in an absolute downpour and we’re just putting a line through it completely, she has plenty of speed and Donagh gets on well with her. Geological (4:45) is our only runner today at Naas. He won well the last day at Leopardstown and we’re hopeful the four pounds he received for that win won’t be enough to stop him. He came out of the race really well and is bouncing again. He’s drawn two which is also an advantage. Shane Foley rides. Tribal Path (1:50) runs today in Chester. He travelled over on Wednesday afternoon and has settled in well. He may be a big horse but Tribal is incredibly agile and we are hopeful that the track may play to his strength’s. Unfortunately, the draw has not been kind but usual tactics will be employed. It is a hot race but off a low weight if he can reproduce his Irish Lincoln run over a more ideal trip today he could be involved. Conor Hoban rides.   At Dundalk tonight we run two, we were delighted to get a win into Indian Tomahawk (5:40) last week at Clonmel and we have found a similar eve ..read more

Geological (3:55) is our reperenstative on a stellar card at Leopardstown today. The ground is described as good to firm which this lad will love. He is also back up to seven furlongs today which plays to his strengths given his mix of speed and stamina he has shown at Dundalk. He has been in good form since his last run and we’re hopeful he can play a part today. Shane Foley rides. Indian Tomahawk (5:20) is our sole runner down in Clonmel today. He’s slowly coming back to himself and we were very happy with the effort he put in the last day. Hopefully he’ll improve with the step up in trip and the switch back to grass might just ignite those sparks. Geological (4:55) had a fantastic winter and after a short break, we recharged his battery and he’s ready for a turf campaign. We tried to be clever and use his race fitness at Naas the last day but he just didn’t get out of the ground. He’s come back in good order and is showing great enthusiasm once again. The six furlongs here clocks in just shy of the full distance but the stiff nature of the track should play to his strengths at the finish. Shane Foley rides. Idlers Dream (5:55) is making her seasonal debut today and she is a nice filly that has filled into her frame well. She has ru ..read more

We run two at Navan today. Bluesbreaker (2:45) is a course and distance winner and we’re hoping for him to bounce back to form today. His first two runs this season just didn’t go his way, on both occasions jockeys reported ‘tacky’ conditions and he just struggled to get his big frame out of the ground. His win last August here was on good ground and we’re hoping he can get back on track today. Donagh O’Connor rides.   Wild Shot (4:55) is slowly coming to hand and is a lovely horse to do anything with. We were very pleased with his last run at Leopardstown and although Declan’s feedback w ..read more
