It blows my mind how the average income in the US is somewhere around 30-40k, no wonder so many people are struggling with debt. For the last 3 years I’ve made over 100k a year with no college degree, no business and no pyramid scheme. I don’t make any money off these videos and I’m not trying to sell anything, it’s pretty damn easy to get into a 100k salary, and I made a video breaking it down. Let me know what you guys think submitted by /u/Own_Contribution4089 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

What to do if debt collector's minimum payments are more than I can afford?

I had medical bills that I was going to pay but they put it under the wrong insurance. They told me they would send me a new bill with the correct insurance but I never got it and forgot about it. I just got a letter from a debt collector for the $3k and they are saying minimum monthly payments would be $300 but I can't afford them. I told them I was willing to pay a smaller amount monthly but they wouldn't budge. The hospital said they could not revert the account back to them from the debt collector. Should I just send them what I can afford every month like $50? submitted by /u/QM_17 [vis ..read more

Due to a string of unfortunate events I have racked up $27,382.89 in credit card/ line of credit debt that’s gaining approximately $450 in interest fees every month. I make good money, but my hours are inconsistent and with all my other bills I can only spare approximately $450-$600/ month to pay it down which is just enough to pay the interest charge and not actually touch the debt. I am on a very strict budget. I do not buy anything that is not absolutely necessary for my partner, my pup and I’s survival besides Netflix and training treats/ toys for my dog. I am considering debt consolidati ..read more

Hi everyone, I am getting a check for $32,000 and wanted to know how I should attack my current credit card debt. Below are the debts, their amounts and the interest rate. NFCU - $31,000 - 14.9% Chase Sapphire - $8,500 - 29.24% Chase Amazon - $ 7,059 - 27.29% I was thinking of putting 20k on the NFCU card and 5k each on the other two. I would love to hear advice to see if this is a good plan or if I should tackle this differently. Thanks in advance submitted by /u/ajenkins04 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

For various reasons, I've accrued 50k in credit card debt, I can make the payments but barely make a dent in the principal. What's the best way to get it paid off? Transfer from one account to another with balance transfer offers? Personal loan? Thanks for the help and insight. submitted by /u/Ill-Air8146 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello everyone thanks in advance for the help. My bank which holds my debt has an offer on my other credit card that has 0 debt in it, but you can't balance transfer to the same bank, so I got a citi bank card and already transferred the max amount 5k. Question being, could I balance transfer that back to the card with more credit that has 0 debt and offer on my main bank? And keep doing that until my high apr with the 15k debt is at 0? TLDR; is it possible to transfer balance to a citi card to then transfer that balance back to a bofa card and rinse and repeat so both cards with the offers h ..read more

Terrified by Grad School Loans

I'm preparing to head out to a three year grad school program, after which I intend to try to enter academia to teach and publish simultaneously. I'm going to my first choice program, which is technically "paid." Nonetheless, it looks like I will rack up a minimum of $66k in student loans by the end of it. This is my dream. My field the only thing I have ever been really, truly talented at. Nonetheless, I looked at my estimated loans tonight and I feel like I can't breathe. If I can't break into academia, I am terrified that I will end up like my mother; drowning in student debt at 55 and wor ..read more

Can You Settle a TitleMax Loan?

my boyfriend's little brother took out a titlemax loan in TN to pay for a month of rent for their apt - needless to say, this was an awful decision. The loan is at over $4k and the min. every month they're paying is $600 + fees & interest are over $400 alone each month. Does TitleMax do settlements? And would they have to pay taxes on the settlement amount if they did? I'm reading different things and was hoping to get clarity on this. They wouldn't be able to give them the car either right now as it's needed. submitted by /u/itsjustmeatc [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
