Confused about interest wording

If a statement says "we will not charge interest on purchases on the next statement if you pay the new balance total in full by the payment due date, and you had paid in full by the previous payment due date," does that mean they charge interest if you don't pay off the entire balance by the due date, not just the statement balance? We had paid the entire statement balance on our Alaska credit card I was surprised that interest accrued the day after the due date. Alaska is a BoA card and I guess I'm used to Barclay which only charges interest if you don't pay the statement balance. submitted ..read more

If I am an authorized user on someone else’s Chase card, is there a way to have that card appear on my own Chase portal? Additionally, is there a way to combine points from a card in my primary name to one I’m a user on? submitted by /u/Alarmed_Eggplant8715 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Any reason to keep the Curve card?

I opened this thing back in August. Sounded like a good idea... free bonus 1% on anything spent through Curve, move some charges to Bilt on the first of the month for bonus points, and carry less cards. But they removed the 1% cash back feature in early 2024, Bilt shut down the loophole of moving the transactions and now even if you use the card normally you don't get points with Bilt (to be clear, I never abused this. I used it normally, and if there was ever a particular transaction I wanted to run through Bilt but couldn't hold til the 1st, I moved that. Not shifting all dining charges thr ..read more

Now that I’m a couple weeks past the 6 month mark from opening my last card (Chase Freedom Flex for the first year 5x groceries and gas promo), I decided yesterday to pull the trigger on the US Bank Altitude Reserve so I can use the card to book my family summer vacation plans and hit the SUB quickly. I was initially told my application was under review and I would receive an update in 7-10 business days, but was pleased to get an email saying I had been approved for a $15k CL about 3 hours after applying. Does Chase Travel portal actually offer roundtrips? Or is it all one way flights?

So I’ve noticed something odd, I’m looking at the Chase portal for nonstop flights. I want to use some of my CSP points. The price I’m being shown says it’s a round trip but once I select the first leg, Chase wants to charge me a lot more for the second leg so it ends up being much more expensive then the initial “roundtrip flight.” Ex: so let’s say the portal says the flight round trip is $500. But once I select the departure, and look at arrival, even if I click the same airline, Chase wants to charge me another $500. So it’s like Chase is trying to sell me two one way tickets even though b ..read more

I knew very little of Credit cards until 2023, when i got a job that traveled a lot. We would stay at Marriotts and fly United, almost exclusively. So I got a Marriott Bold (lol) and a United Club (a bit excessive but still awesome) and i was hooked on points/miles. But then I really dug into it. Aside fromt he SUBs, the actual spending rewards on these cards is awful. 2x on travel for travel cards...really? Even though we traveled a lot, it still wasn't enough to get status at United or any meaningful status at Marriott. It was then I realized, I ain't built for this world. I don't travel to ..read more

How does the FICO score work?

I have two credit cards with boa and previously I would just pay off everything before billing cycle closes and my statement would always show as 0% utilization… But I read somewhere in Reddit that it’s recommended to have a small amount show in your statement balance and then pay it off by statement due date. So this month before the cycle closed I left a balance of 1% on each card based on each cards limit. Then I see my score dropped by 11 points after the monthly score update. What am I doing wrong lol. Should I pay the statement balance before the monthly score report is updated? submit ..read more

Hey there! I was wondering if I were to open up a choice privileges credit card would that be attached to my existing wells fagro account? Would the acquired rewards be in the same reward bank as my Wells Fargo autograph to where I could use them up without having to have separate accounts or lose points for having to transfer from one to another? submitted by /u/Financial_Group2370 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
