So now we move onto the second half of my road trip across Portugal. Although I loved northern Portugal, I hear it rains a lot, and I’m not really a fan of rain. I knew this already but needed to see for myself what it was all about in the north. I conducted a ton of research before embarking on my road trip, on blogs and Facebook groups, and one place that kept coming up was Caldas da Rainha. Everyone said this would be the perfect place to meet all my needs. Did I like it? You’ll see below, but first, after let’s continue south from Aveiro where I made a stop in Leiria for a couple of days ..read more

I went on a three-week road trip across the west coast of Portugal. This was a scouting trip to see where I might want to buy a property for a retreat center. Portugal isn’t that big, but I feel like I just barely scratched the surface. It’s a lovely country, with beauty everywhere you turn, lush landscapes, rolling mountains, interesting architecture and town squares, kind and friendly people, and some of the most affordable vegan food options in Europe. It can be rather uncomfortable so I made a list of things to do if you happen to visit London during horrible weather or you plan to stay there anytime between October and March. If you want to do anything touristy or outdoors I beg of you to visit London between April and September (but not in a heat wave because then you’ll be miserable too). Most of this has to do with food and being inside because eating around new cities is my favorite thing to ..read more

You probably noticed I don’t blog anymore. Or maybe you didn’t and you’ll never see this. Anyways, I felt like I need to do a brief update on what has been going with me since I moved to Portugal. I did it in video form because it was easier. Sometimes I think about blogging again but I’ve fallen into a routine of working for other people (in digital marketing) and not leaving time for my own projects. I’m trying to have a better work/life balance so my free time is used cooking, exercising, playing tennis, exploring, spending quality time with friends and doing anything that I find fun or re ..read more

If you didn’t get it from the last two travel blog posts, I’m moving to Portugal! Not only am I moving away from the 2nd largest city in Europe, but I’m also moving to the countryside, which means saying goodbye to all the comforts of living in a big city. I feel like I’m ready for it though. I dream of open landscapes, quiet and peaceful days making my own bread and jam, and having fresh air again. Basically, living like an old lady. Today I share with you the top things I love about living in a big city in Europe. Lisbon actually has all these things but #5, so I won’t be too far away from t ..read more
