What lunches are you having?

After my initial post in this group all the advice I have been given has really helped me to work out my breakfasts and dinner so thank you! I’ve never been good with lunch though. A lot of the time I’d just skip it but I am trying to make sure I have much more for other reasons. I can definately have a low Fodmap salad everyday but I’m worried that will get boring very quickly. I could do left over for some of my meals ( pasta dishes) but what else do you guys think could be a good quick lunch? Thanks :) submitted by /u/Dezzyboi222 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I love this diet

I have suffering from IBS for 20 years; symptoms were getting worse. I was diagnosed with fructose and sorbitol intolerance but I could not really get rid of the symptoms. I started the low FODMAP diet 45 days ago, following the instructions of a dietitian and it has really been a life changer. No more daily diarrhea, nausea, bloating, pain... Sure, the diet is very restrictive, and it is challenging to follow, especially eating out. But it is so worth it. I have not been very successful with most reintroductions so far; I keep trying but most things I've tried caused symptoms. I think that i ..read more

Start of the Day: Loud Belly Bubbles – Anyone Else?

Anyone else wake up every day and the first thing they hear is loud, aggressive bubbling and popping sounds from their lower abdomen/descending colon? It happens periodically throughout the day, but it's especially loud right first thing in the morning as soon as I wake up. Happens every single day, and it doesn't quit until I pass gas somehow. Anybody else dealing with this? Any idea why it's happening? I don't have any other tummy issues. submitted by /u/Mysterious_Bird_693 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Where do you get your protein?

I’m trying to eat protein to build muscle while staying low fodmap. I can eat some diary in the mornings but my stomach can’t handle it in the afternoon. So far I’ve been sticking to lactose free yogurt and plant protein. I try to eat a lot of chicken as well. Any other easy was to get protein? Not sure how well my stomach can deal with fair life shakes (they have 24-40g protein). submitted by /u/signal_zzz [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How to gain weight with so many dietary issues?

I have SIBO Methane dominant, IBSC, and gluten/dairy intolerance. I can’t eat more things than I can. I’m rapidly dropping weight and can’t eat enough. Peanut butter helps me but I feel sick on so much fat at once. I am trying to put in weight and don’t know what to do. Gluten free is killing my ability to gain weight, but I have extreme fatigue and brain fog when I consume it. SIBO knocks out most FODMAPs for me and most fermentable carbs like oats or potato’s. I’m really at a loss. I lift weights and eat a lot of protein though. I just struggle with overall calories. Breakfast Cream of rice ..read more

Soft foods when eating out?

I have a loose tooth that the dentist won’t be able to fix for at least a month which means I have to eat very soft foods or soup. I’m suffering enough cooking at home for myself but I’m visiting family in New York soon and have no idea what I’m supposed to be ordering at cafes/restaurants. Does anybody have tips or experience to share? Or potentially some places to eat near upper west side NY that are good for fodmap issues? submitted by /u/riverscreeks [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Constant abdominal distension

Hey! Basically, I was a normal person until I got my gallbladder surgery two years ago. After that, I started having some gut problems, which mutated. Currently, I'm better and not in pain, I was diagnosted with IBS and bile reflux, which I'm being treated for. However, I still have constant abdominal distension. It is like a feeling below my bellybutton (lower abdominal area), like of tightness. I can really feel a force (and some pain) whenever I try to push it down with my hand. I've been tested for SIBO and it came negative. I have also taken probiotics. I have also tested negative for ce ..read more
