Reigning EMX250 Champion, Andrea Bonacorsi, will step up to the premier class with the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP Team for the remainder of the 2024 FIM Motocross World Championship season, replacing Maxime Renaux who is currently sidelined through injury. MX Team GB Junior World team manager Dave Willet, the driving force behind the Apico 2-Stroke Festival featuring the Red Bull Pro Stroke National, has got together with his Team GB co-organisers to put on another couple of youth motocross training days; one in the UK and one in Holland on the venue that hosts the World Championship this summer. It was a windy start to the 2024 racing season at Foxhills for the Motul Fastest 40 British Motocross Championship powered by Michelin. The team had its first outing on Honda machinery, with Martin Barr and Tom Grimshaw competing in the MX1 class. The track was pretty dry, meaning most lines on the hardpack track remained unchanged throughout Saturday’s racing. Conrad Mewse romped to a fine double win in the MX1 class while Tommy Searle was also unbeaten in the MX2 races in the new-look Fastest 40 series which kicked off today at Foxhill. KTM’s Aaron Plessinger was sidelined from the Massachusetts Supercross race following a crash in the opening qualifying session. The impact resulted in a fracture of the proximal ulna bone in the elbow region of his arm, which will require an anticipated recovery time of 4-6 weeks.
