California's Air Resources Board (CARB) and Department of Justice (DOJ) Friday announced a $46 million settlement with engine manufacturer Cummins. The settlement resolves DOJ and CARB’s claims for violations of California engine emissions control and certification requirements. Cummins made undisclosed changes to approximately 120,000 engines in California after CARB had certified the engines for sale. The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):  E-One Incorporated is recalling certain 2024 Commercial, Cyclone N, Typhoon N, and Typhoon EV vehicles equipped with Hercules HC 1.7 multiplex nodes. In the event of a short circuit or wiring failure, the firmware in the node may fail to shut off the output pin, resulting in overloaded electrical circuits.
