Games or modules that permit a player to be a union activist

As the title says. Does anyone know of any games or modules / adventures that permit a player to play the role of union activist or a labor activist, involved in industrial disputes of some kind? I’d love to find something like this, set in either the current day or the relatively recent past (eg 1930s or 50s). Thank you in advance for any suggestions! submitted by /u/ColinDouglas999 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Two rplayers who want their characters to be in the same family

Hi, I'm a new GM, and I've asked my players to think about some background story. One of them wants to be in the same family than the other person who has the same race as him. The thing is, I'm scared of them roleplaying only between them when we'll start the game. How do you guys manage when the characters have family links during a storyline that doesn't involve characters necessarily knowing eachother? (Be gentle w me plz, I'm new in this and also, english isn't my first language and I'm not bilingual so, srry if you didn't get my post well) submitted by /u/eleonore_959 [visit reddit] [c ..read more

So one of our group .. let’s call him mike as that is his name . every now and again more so than others he can’t make it needs to work, car needs fixing, pulled a back muscle putting 40kg dumbbells away etc. we have a group of 6 and its not unusual for someone to not attend due to real life etc and the show does go on due to groups size(we only cancel if less than 4).we are currently playing liminal . each player gms for 6 weeks .I do RQ2 as it’s clearly the greatest .thoughts? submitted by /u/Stormbull1973 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello, I am looking for a game with similar lair gameplay as Dragon Quest Builders, but set in a zombie outbreak or post apocalypse setting, where you can scavenge items and build settlements and so on, as an rpg genre. It doesn’t matter if it is First person, 2D or 3D. Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/Ok-Victory-1689 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Searching for possible rules for multi-GM games

I've recently came back to playing TTRPGs (beginning of last year) after a 10 year long rage-quit and I am slowly realizing there are a million new systems and games! There are not enough weeks on the year to properly test everything that is available! One of the first games my new group tried after coming back was Fate Core. We really enjoyed the "aspects" mechanics where everybody adds a bit of narrative to the game and that eventually evolved to the point where we no longer have a "main" GM and we simply go around the table and everybody adds to the story/characters whenever necessary. There are RPGs that reward cautious planning, tactical play, or both. What are some RPGs that do the opposite: specifically rewarding impulsive, spur-of-the-moment, yet bold and decisive action?

I'm wanting to write a SpongeBob RPG set in Bikini Bottom in a slice of life style where the only rules are: you don't play as an existing character, you can't be a merfolk land critter or something like a snail or worm (really a pet). You also must be in alliance with a Bikini Bottom citizen but you can be new to the area. No combat system is involved, you have free will to an extent. At the end of the day each session is at the discretion of the GM. Thoughts? submitted by /u/KairaSuperSayan93 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

In a Godbound game I am in at this very moment, part of the scenario's backdrop is that there was once an adventuring party of Godbound who went around the world, generally saving and uplifting it. All but one of them died for varying reasons, and of course, resurrecting a Godbound is virtually impossible. Stricken with grief at losing his friends, the survivor went around the realm, gathering the patronage of multiple dragons, Eldritches, Fae, parasite gods, and Uncreated. By pooling together all of their mystical prowess, he forged a mystical contract: he would be drained of nearly all of h ..read more

I’m a local tour guide and I love bringing that into my campaign, I’ve ran world of darkness set where I live, and all my players really loved it. then I decided to give Weaver dice a try.(I live in a small town that it’s manageable.) and it was a ton of fun so I’m looking for some more systems that you can run small scale, single town campaigns in. submitted by /u/annmorningstar [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Looking for a system for "Napoleonic Fantasy" or "Napoleonic Horror"

There's a couple of examples of this kind of fiction that come to mind for me. First is obviously Naomi Novik's Temeraire, which is napoleonic dragons. Truthfully I haven't gotten around to reading it quite yet, but it's very high on my to-read list (if I can ever find book 1 in the bookstore!). Another one, perhaps less well-known, is Osprey's Silver Bayonet tactical wargame. I recognize that this is a fairly niche request. I can think of a handful of ways to try and hack something together - for example, I could take Hunter: The Reckoning and Victorian Age Vampire (both by White Wolf) and s ..read more
