Driving range facilities can have some pretty strict rules and you will see a fair few videos of golfers being ejected from a range. A lot of ranges object to players trying to hit outside of the nets and some go so far as to ban any full swings. The golfer in question here has gone full send or close to it with this swing. He has also been pulled up immediately. And he is out of there. Perhaps the only golfer in the world who can claim to have had a better 2024 than Scottie Scheffler is Nelly Korda, who has gone three from three in her last three outings. Korda has made a few key changes to her bag from the tail-end of last season and her most recent win. She has made a change to her driver with her old TaylorMade Stealth 2 now supplanted by a new TaylorMade Qi10 Max. “The reason why I picked the Qi10 Max driver is the look of it compared to the other models,” Korda said of that choice. “When I put it down and look at it I feel like I can hit any shot I want with the subtle ..read more

John Daly says any golfer wanting to improve their game should work on chipping and putting. Daly says that while the big drives on the PGA Tour make headlines, the scoring clubs are called the scoring clubs for a reason. Chip and putt in your practices and your game will improve and your scores come down. “We are going to miss shots and greens and it’s nice when you can get them up and down,” Daly has said in the past. “That’s why I work harder on chipping and putting than anything in my game ever.” View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Silky Mitts Golf (@silkymittsgolf_) W ..read more

The PGA Tour’s best ball strikers are often among the best players in the game. Ball-striking takes into account play with both drivers and irons as well as some other clubs. However, here we zero in on the irons each of the top ball strikers use. Scottie Scheffler Scottie Scheffler has an unorthodox style, but when it comes to his irons he is inspired by Tiger Woods. “I played with Tiger at the Masters in 2020. He hits it so solid and flights it so well and does all kinds of stuff with the ball. I was like, ‘I used Nike clubs for so long when he was helping develop those irons.’ I’m like, why ..read more

Buffalo Dunes is a must play course if you are in the Garden City area

Buffalo Dunes are rightly proud of the fact that they have been consistently improving their course since it was opened in 1976. The course has matured beautifully over the years, even if the scattered trees on the layout offer little protection from the wind. While the property it is built on looks relatively flat, there is an undulating nature to the terrain that makes for a terrific base on which to build a course. Buffalo Dunes features bluegrass fairways and bentgrass greens and plays at 6,806 yards from the tips. Built on the outskirts of Garden City in Kansas, Buffalo Dunes is a little ..read more

Golf has the uncanny ability to show up those who choose to play the sport at all levels – and even Rory McIlroy is not exempt. During the 2024 season, McIlroy has found water a few times, some of the courses he has played at are renowned for water hazards and usually he’s made a splash when going for an adventurous shot. Jason Day has made an equipment shift in a bid to address the weakest area of his game right now. Day is a tour leader in many stats categories, but his iron play has been disappointing recently. He has added Srixon ZX5 MkII long irons (3-and 4-iron) and Srixon ZX7 MkII mid-to-short irons (5-PW) to his bag. Day revealed that the switch was all about spin control and getting a lot more distance out of his irons. He noted that the Srixon irons have been performing well for him out of fairway bunkers, although he hasn’t really needed to use them that much out of the rough. Day isn’t signed to an ..read more

The lip-out is one of golf’s most soul-destroying occurrences. It is almost getting it right only to have success yanked away from you at the last. We can all relate to that. This one is especially heartbreaking as it circles the hole and flies back out almost to the point it was hit from. What would you do if this happened to you? The TaylorMade BRNR Mini Driver Copper made waves with its retro styling when it was released ahead of The Masters – and it seems that at least one professional was impressed. TaylorMade’s new BRNR Mini Driver Copper club is a purely aesthetic addition to their new range of BRNR Mini Drivers. McIlroy started testing it before the Texas Open, and he was using it in the practice rounds of The Masters. He did not utilise the club during the tournament main, choosing to continue using his TaylorMade Qi10 3-wood, but the PGA Tour now makes its way to the tighter winding course at Harbour ..read more
