Miami responded after Game 1, now it’s time for Boston to return the favor
Before the series started, some fans believed it would be “easy” and some believed we would sweep the Miami Heat. Well, after Wednesday’s home loss, the team and fans know this Miami team won’t go down without a fight. After many years battling Miami, they have to be respected. In fact, they should have earned our respect.
Miami mentioned pregame that they wanted to shoot more threes, and they succeeded, hitting 53.5% (23/43) from deep. Boston didn’t adjust to Miami’s game plan and ..read more

The Heat fulfilled their promise to flip the three-point differential from Game 1 and did so by hitting more threes than the Celtics did in that opener.
BOSTON — Miami promised more threes and in 3.5 quarters on Wednesday delivered the Celtics as many makes as Boston poured on them through all of Sunday afternoon. Caleb Martin’s fifth three on sixth tries brought back memories of last year, slamming the door shut on Boston’s comeback attempt and reminding everyone that the Heat won’t go down easily in this series — even without Jimmy Butler and Terry Rozier.

Jaylen Brown told reporters after practice they anticipate a hungrier and more desperate version of Miami to show up tomorrow.
With the exception of a stretch in the fourth quarter, Game 1 couldn’t have gone much better for the Celtics, who came away with a dominant 114-94 win and led by double-digits for most of the afternoon.
But Joe Mazzulla told reporters at practice on Tuesday he knows that a better Heat team awaits his squad in Game 2.

Boston backed up their superstar, and now, they have even more motivation to ramp up their intensity moving forward.
Success has been the enemy of the Boston Celtics all season. Their historic 64-win regular season was not a product of welcoming triumph with open arms. Instead, while they appreciated their accomplishments, they refused to rest on their laurels.
“If we’re just going to sit back and be happy after every win, then that’s an unhealthy relationship with success, and it’s going to come back to bite us in the a**,” Joe M ..read more

Jimmy Butler is unlikely to play in the next few weeks.
Jimmy Butler injured his MCL when playing the Philadelphia 76ers in the opening round of the play-in tournament on April 16. He missed the opening game between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat. The initial expectation was that he could potentially return later in the series.
However, it would appear Butler’s injury was more significant than first thought. According to Shams Charania, who was speaking on Monday’s episode of ‘Run it Back,’ Butler is expected to miss the entirety of Miami’s matchup against ..read more

The Celtics matched their most made three-pointers in a playoff game on Sunday afternoon.
Asking whether or not the Celtics shoot too many threes is like asking if Taylor Swift puts out too many albums. Wouldn’t you with all those hits?
Boston tied their franchise record of twenty-two triples in a playoff game on Sunday. It was a welcome reminder of just how dangerous this team has been all year after nearly three weeks of non-competitive basketball.

There’s nothing wrong with me. I just get anxious, dude.
There is a tremendous amount of pressure on the Boston Celtics to go all the way and win Banner 18 this spring. After years of coming close but failing to finish the job, it feels like anything besides an NBA championship will be a letdown.
The pressure reaches farther than just the players. Many fans, like myself, are feeling the heat (no pun intended) as the playoffs get underway. What sort of torment are we all going to have to endure this summer if our g ..read more
