Son ruled out
This EPL game-week comes on the heals of another mid-week course of European adventures and just before a second, much-dreaded international meat-grinder break. Delaying transfer decisions in FPL is advised, not just for this week’s fitness but to bank transfer(s) if at all possible. Similarly, postpone chips. Keeping powder dry until after the international break will empower you to claim recovered players to replace those battered and bruised by their travels.
Lets take a look at some of the news emanating from the camps of Pre ..read more

The fantasy futbal roller coaster continues as we wrap up the mid-week European fixtures. My journey has been full of ups and downs, but overall, I’m fairly content with how my team has performed so far.
I started with Manchester City star Erling Haaland as my only premium pick, and the team’s balance was solid, delivering key supporting points. Liverpool star Mo Salah’s consistent performances were a bit worrying, so I planned my transfers carefully to bring him in by GW-5. That turned out to be a great decision, as I tallied 88 points i ..read more

It’s the game week before the 2nd international break
There are still midweek games remaining for Chelsea, Man United and Tottenham today (Thursday), so fantasy managers are encouraged to come back for the pre-deadline chat to track any late injuries.
Note that the only deadline-time game is Palace hosting Liverpool, so we will see those two lineups confirmed during the countdown hour. (Something else to discuss in the pre-deadline chat)

Chelsea’s Cole Palmer is the man in form after four goals last time out | Photo by Robin Jones/Getty Images
Is Cole ‘Cold’ Palmer a must for this game-week?
No surprise that Cole Palmer owned the headlines after his stunning four goals in the first half against Brighton on the weekend. Chelsea is in form and in the ascendancy.
Elsewhere, the pressure is back on ten Hag after Man United’s disaster at home against Tottenham. At least Bruno’s red card was rescinded, but what does that tell us about VAR?
Looking forward to GW-7, there are some big names as you’d expect off the back of the weekend ..read more

Harry Kane was spectacular in match day one. Can he repeat it? | Photo by Sebastian Widmann/Getty Images
It’s going to take a little time to adjust to the new format. I’m going to need to be way more proactive as the season moves forward if I’m going to have a decent season. I didn’t look enough ahead.
Thankfully it’s a long season.
UCL MD-1
Thank you Harry Kane.
Everyone else. Meh.
Captaining Kane salvaged an otherwise pretty mediocre week. It generally takes me some time to get going in UCL. I get overwhelmed initially, and it feels like I’m throwing darts (badly) to pick non-household names ..read more

Come check out my team for GW-6
Getting my team sorted for GW-6 was pretty straightforward, and this is mostly due to the fact that I was forced to make use of my wildcard just to create space for Mo Salah, who was on a rampage from game-weeks 1-3. So maybe I did jinx him. The only transfer I made this week was to bring in Saka for Palmer.
Goalkeeper
Mark Flekken
Flekken retains his place until next week, when he gets replaced by Raya. The clash between Brentford and West Ham is unpredictable to the Hammers’ inconsistency.

UCL midweek again looms over the top teams’ domestic squad selection this weekend.
With the international break, midweek Carabao Cup competitions, and upcoming UCL matches affecting squad selections, injuries and fixture congestion are increasingly impacting the league, posing challenges for fantasy managers.
