Calling all Sky Fantasy Football Players!
As some of you may already know, I have been working on a fancy pants new site called Fantasy Football Hub. This site is geared towards all types on fantasy football games, including FPL. Fear not though, as we will be providing you lucky lot with a host of awesome Sky articles, podcasts, groups, and so much more. Here is who we have signed up as Sky contributors to ensure that the site does not become a feed of FPL rate my teams (I’ll be in my grave before this ever happens!):

After last week’s super start, I was only going to go one way in the ranks… down. Maybe crashing back down is a little harsh, but lets just say it was a bumpy landing.
By the way this post is going to be super short as I’m working on an exciting project (see the end)
Gameweek Points: 63
Overall Points: 202
Overall Rank: 688
Transfers Remaining: 37
Not much to say apart from that it was a mediocre one with Lukaku the only captain to bring home the bacon. Kane has a lot to make up for following another blank as he plays host to a not so travel sick Burnley side.

Kicked off the season well as captains Lacazatte, Salah and Lukaku hit big. That coupled with a heavy sprinkling of points across my team rounded off a tidy 139 point opening week. It was soured slightly by having to play 3 transfers – one of them being a very I’ll advised move for Herrera.
Gameweek Points: 139
Overall Points: 139
Overall Rank: 118
Transfers Remaining: 37
Last weeks transfer splurge
My first trade last week saw the planned Lacazette to Jesus move, which was unfortunate not to pay off. The Brazilian looked sharp and I’m happy to have him captain on Sunday. A sus ..read more

With only hours left before kick off, I think Im settled on my team. Although I have thought that at least 5 times before, I really do think this is the one…probably… maybe… Anyway, here it is:
Defense
I have kept with the tried and trusted fantasy formula of cheap with good fixtures here. At one stage it was dirt cheap, but doubts over Coutinho has allowed me to ‘upgrade’ my defence. Along with Kane and Lukaku, Stephens has been the only player not to leave my side. His value and fixtures see him complete a Southampton double act as I opt for Forster between the sti ..read more

With one week to go before season launch, I’m still yet to decide what I’ll be doing with my 2nd team and some of you may be in the same boat. By running through the options, I hope to to help myself, and you, figure out what to do.
Nothing
You could do this, but it seems a bit of a waste.
Play two completely separate teams
Can’t choose between Willian and Fabregas? Or Aguero and Jesus? Play with two teams and you don’t have to choose!
Try out something different
Fancy seeing if playing with 5 defenders would work? Or punting on players you wouldn’t usually? This option could be for you ..read more

Following articles on goalkeepers and midfielders, plus an in-depth analyses on defenders by Niall, this will be the final watchlist article. There are a lot to choose from in the striker department, but I have narrowed my watchlist down to just 5.
Jesus – is he the best Man City option?
Some were surprised that I did not include De Bruyne in my midfield watchlist and the Brazilian was the reason why. When compared to De Bruyne, its important to first look at Sky’s point allocation. Midfielders can fair better due to picking up more bonus points for tackles and passes, while also collecting mo ..read more

Following on from the Goalkeeper watchlist article, I have opted to skip defenders as Niall is covering that area so well. I’ll still include a defenders poll at the end so I can compile the new Watchlist Tab though.
One of the beauties of the sky game is how the midfielder scoring works, making defensive midfielders a viable option (if you’re not sure how the bonus points work, be sure to check out this link). So, while I’m pretty settled on my frontline and defence, I haven’t even got one midfielder slot nailed down! Nevertheless, here are a few that keep cropping up near the top of my ..read more

If you haven’t already, check out new blogger Niall’s excellent article on the Sky Fantasy rule change for defenders. This article is far less sophisticated, I’ll be running you through my top choice keepers that will form part of a watchlist series on each position. Each post will also poll your views and this will be compiled to form a new Watchlist Tab prior the season launch on the 11th August (I’ll also endeavour to keep this updated throughout the season!)
For me, cheap stoppers are the way to go in Sky. This is based on years of playing the game and backed up by Niall’s recent analysis ..read more

Before I kick off I’d like to thank Will for letting me contribute to this fantastic blog. I’m a bit of a novice in comparison, but I hope you’ll bear with me!
Now, there’s a lot we don’t know about the upcoming season, but one thing we do know is that defenders no longer lose a point for the first goal they concede in a game. With the new rule applied, a West Brom defender who started every game would’ve been 32 points better off, while at the other end of the scale, a Manchester United or Tottenham defender would’ve benefitted by 21. The average defender last season would’ve earne ..read more

Those looking for a beginner’s guide to Sky Fantasy Football should head over to Buffrey’s excellent article on Fantasy Football Scout. Here I’ll be casting my eye over the main change to the game, the ‘overhall’, and what it means for captaincy before kick off.
Overhaul
Here is what Sky has to say:
Due to feedback we received from our players, for 2017/18 we have introduced our new Overhaul feature. You will be able to take advantage of Overhaul twice this season; once in September and the other taking place in February.
During these periods, you will be able to make an unlimited amount of t ..read more
