What I miss About Summer LAX!
Dodgers Lacrosse & Field Hockey Club

After leaving my old club team and joining Dodgers I was nervous about how I would fit into the team and their community. From the second I joined, Dee welcomed me with open arms and made me feel immediately part of the Dodger family. The girls were fun, welcoming, and great teammates, which was something that had been missing from my other club team. The amount of fun and dedication our entire team had made us play hard not only for ourselves, but for each other. Now, a year after my dodger career has ended I still have lasting relationships with many of my teammates. One dodger will even be ..read more

Advice From Coach Colleen
Dodgers Lacrosse & Field Hockey Club
by Joslyn Ammar

Dodgers is thrilled to welcome Colleen Olson to our coaching staff. Here are 3 Things Colleen encourages athletes to keep top of mind: 1) What you put into your passion is what you will get out of it. If you are passionate about lacrosse and want to be the best player you can be, you've got to be fired up to put in the work it will take off the field to get there, whether that's on the wall with stickwork, doing extra footwork drills on the ladder, or running some extra 100's after practice. 2) Be present. Soak in every moment you have with your teammates and coaches. Playing on a team like Do ..read more

Dodgers Lacrosse & Field Hockey Club
by Joslyn Ammar

By Scott Burnett, parent of Briana Burnett who recently signed with Army 1. Importance of Grades I wish we had known how vitally important grades were starting freshman year of high school. It's so much easier to start at a high GPA and maintain it versus letting it slip and trying to bring it back up. Encourage your kid(s) to stay on top of classes, homework and other assignments. 2. Score Big This Time of Year Since recruiting is happening earlier and earlier now, I wish we knew how helpful and insightful early ACT and SAT scores were throughout the recruiting process. It's never too ..read more

BEING PART OF THE DODGERS LACROSSE CLUB

By Megan Andrews, 2017 Team The Dodgers to me represents a great family. It was great to meet new people not just from Connecticut, but from Florida and even Canada! They know what you are going through in terms of the recruiting process and it is nice to have your teammates to talk to. Also, when I tore my ACL, right away I was put in touch with another Dodger who tore her ACL earlier and she helped me throughout the whole process. This just goes to show how much the teams care about each other and look out for one another. I’m going to be honest; the recruiting process is never easy. My advi ..read more

FIVE STEPS TO ACE YOUR UNOFFICIAL CAMPUS VISIT
Dodgers Lacrosse & Field Hockey Club
by Danie Caro

As you go through the recruiting process, one of the most intimidating aspects may be your unofficial visit to campus. It is often your first face to face meeting with the coaching staff, and in many cases, your future teammates as well. However, your visit is also a great opportunity for you to get a sense of the school you are considering, a feel for the lacrosse program, and whether or not you may be a good fit at that institution. Depending on the school and where you are in the recruiting process, a campus visit may include a meeting with the coach, meeting current players, an Admissions ..read more
