From Our Initial Planning To The Goodbyes To New Friends, This Trip Was Unforgettable!

Our Africa Dream Safari was an amazing trip. From our arrival at the airport to our departure we felt welcomed and cared for. Our guide Alex was wonderful, with an educational background (PhD) in wildlife ecology, years working for Serengeti National Park, and experience supervising a group of safari camps. Alex’s knowledge about each animal painted a picture of every ecosystem we visited, and he was very skilled at finding us all of the animals we had hoped to see. We will never forget seeing a close encounter between a lion and a leopard (apparently quite rare), the lioness calling out in a ..read more

A Perfectly Coordinated Adventure!
A Tanzania Travelogue

I travel frequently and this safari with Africa Dream Safaris was, without a doubt, the most incredible trip of my life! From the minute my plane landed in Tanzania and until I departed, the experience was amazing! The ADS staff who greeted me were so kind and so helpful! I was completely in awe during the entire trip at the level of coordination through every part of this amazing safari! The lodging in each of the camps (Mara River Camp, Mbuzi Mawe, Lion’s Paw and Maramboi) was outstanding and I had an absolute blast soaking up the culture and getting to know the local staff. But the biggest ..read more

Our Trip Began And Ended With Our Phenomenal Guide!
A Tanzania Travelogue

I want to thank you and Africa Dreams Safari for providing my friend Sheila and me with an adventure I still have trouble finding words to describe. I’ll start with spell-binding. I feel as though I had stepped through a portal into a new, vast and wondrous life scape that enriches my present existence beyond measure. It’s hard to know where to begin other than acknowledging that our trip began and ended with our guide, Elson. More on him later! But I think it important to differentiate between our ADS experience and others, starting with our happy selection of the Hemingway Camps. While I k ..read more

Maybe Twice In A Lifetime?
A Tanzania Travelogue

In August 2023, I realized a decades-long dream of going on a safari. I originally planned a trip for 2010, and selected ADS based on a recommendation I had received years before and thankfully kept. Things changed, as they do, and that trip never came to fruition. At that point, I told myself that within a year of retiring, I would make that dream a reality. And I did! Working with Dawn Anderson was a pleasure (both in 2009 and recently). She was so patient in answering every question we could throw at her and knowledgeable on every aspect of the location. Russell, our guide, was simply amaz ..read more

Beautiful, Wild and Perfect!

Kristi and I first contacted ADS nearly ten years ago. The packet that we received in the mail lived on our bookshelf, through multiple moves and life changes, as a reminder of a dream. We watched the Hemingway experience video over and over and I must admit I had some doubts that the experience could live up to their depiction. I am excited to say that it was everything they said it could be and more! Placing our faith in ADS to plan and coordinate our August 2023 Dream Safari was the most perfect choice we could have possibly made. From the moment we arrived, we were totally cared for and m ..read more

The Land Of Abundance!
A Tanzania Travelogue

I’m a traveler. I take 2 big trips a year and 4 to 6 small trips. I happily suffer from Wanderlust and I’m not looking for a cure! With most of my travels, I always say I’m going to return but never do. There are just so many wonderful places to explore. In August 2022, I had visited South Africa, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe and Botswana as a solo traveler on a 16 day group tour. The trip was incredible. Africa had touched my soul in a way no other place had done before and I wanted to return. I started doing some research and before I left Botswana, I had already made contact with Sharon Lyon of ..read more

How often do you go half way across the world and have no travel stress?
A Tanzania Travelogue

There are few experiences in life that exceed all expectations no matter how much it’s talked up prior. My family’s ADS safari truly exceeded all expectations. From the camps to our guide, Roman, we couldn’t have asked for more. ADS was on top of every detail and even planned some special experiences for us to celebrate my son’s birthday. How often do you go half-way across the world and have no travel stress? The Serengeti itself is awe-inspiring, and the Tanzanian people are extremely kind and caring with great sense of humor. As for the animals, we never imagined being so close to so ..read more

All I can say is what an amazing time we had touring Tanzania with African Dream Safaris. It was an incredible journey from the beginning planning stages working with Dawn. She helped with planning and scheduling with our changes and ultimately gave us an incredible anniversary trip. The Hemingway experience was all it promised to be and more. The camps we stayed in were absolutely amazing. The staff were friendly and attentive to all our needs. They truly went above and beyond. The food was delicious from breakfast to picnic lunches to dinner and many choices. From the time we got off the p ..read more

A Bucket List Trip Across The Serengeti!
A Tanzania Travelogue

A safari across the Serengeti has long been a bucket list adventure we’ve been looking towards as we embarked on our retirement years. Then COVID hit and our plans were put on hold. We did not want to experience a safari with a group of 10-12 strangers following an itinerary where we were one of a dozen other tours staying at the same lodges. We were seeking a unique intimate experience that we would remember for the rest of our lives! African Dream Safaris (ADS) provided just such a custom experience. Working with Sharon Lyon of ADS over many discussions and planning calls, we were able to c ..read more
