Hello! I moved to Japan 20 days ago, and I rent a room in a sharehouse with this real state agency named GG House Management. In the interview they told me to pay 30.000 yen for the first month (April) and starting May, I have until the 20th of every month to pay the rent. I specifically asked if April was payed, now I have to wait until May to pay may rent, and they told me that was correct. Today GG House Management contact me telling me I have to pay may rent and I was out of date to pay, since I should have pay before 20 of April. And they want me to pay with interest for every day since ..read more

My girlfriend just graduated college and is looking for a job. She's half japanese (father is from taiwan but lives in Japan). We've been to Taipei many times and it's definitely not as third world as it might seem to people who have never been.
What's really strange to me though is that a lot of entry level positions in Tokyo only pay around 225,000 yen. I'm in my mid 30s... but that seems comically low? For Tokyo?? She also applied to some jobs in ..read more

Hi everyone. I moved to Tokyo about a month ago.
Curious if you know any social football (soccer, 11 aside) teams/leagues that I could join? :) I'm a full back and can play center back too, in pretty good shape and have been playing football weekly since I was a kid so hoping to find a team here :D
Thanks

Hello! And good afternoon. I know this post might be a little weird, but I thought I would try anyways…
Today…I was at Platform 5 heading back to Takasaki waiting for the green car to arrive. When I was boarding the train his water bottle slipped out out of the stroller (ベービーカ) and fell onto the tracks. I was devastated to have to tell my 5 year old who has had that water bottle most of his life. If anyone could help me retrieve it because I live so far from Tokyo I would forever be in your debt. I don’t even know if that is possible. But I would like to try… Here is a picture of the wat ..read more

Hi all, I’m fascinated by the long jackets/trench coats/ rain jackets worn by men and women in Tokyo, they look more subtle, loose yet elegant than their european counterparts. Any suggestion on Japanese brands? Something like Nanamica or similar. Thank you!
