Will there ever be a "shooter" in football that breaks the whole meta?

I am a basketball fan first and a football fan second, and Steph Curry is my all time favorite player. What makes Curry so impactful was not just his ability to shoot a basketball from long range but the effect that his range had on the opposing defenses. To put this in perspective - imagine an era before Curry where teams only shot the ball from at maximum 20 feet (6 meters) away from the basket. This would be a more efficient shot, but at the same time, you would frequently be competing for space with the 9 other players on the floor. When Curry started shooting from 30 to 35+ feet (10 mete ..read more

Why the stupid substitution against Madrid, knowing they react very well to extremely defensive situations?

Why do these managers make these shitty subs in extra time or 5 minutes before 90 minutes? Pep, did the same shit taking out the best penalty takers for city, Haaland and KDB even though there was a higher probability of a penalty shoot out. Tuchel literally did the same shit even though they were 1 goal up ONLY and took off Kane and Sane, both of whom were definitely not overworked. Sane had a poor game but he brings the pace in attack and can finish chances out of nowhere, Kane is the best with penalties. Why tf do these guys use defend and inshallah when that never works with Madrid consid ..read more

Is it just me or do high-profile goalies keep making incredible mistakes against Real Madrid in the CL?

It has almost become a running gag that whenever Real are in desperate need of a goal in the UCL the opposition goalie makes an insane blunder. Statistically this has to be insane. Is it a psychological thing that has developed a dynamic of its own? submitted by /u/magicmushroom21 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
