The BCS recognises the enormous positive impact that Carto-SoC has had on advancing cartographic skills and knowledge over many years and is committed to supporting their ongoing development within and beyond our professional community. The British Cartographic Society

Due to the on-going global crisis posed by COVID-19, after careful consideration we have decided to postpone this year's conference until September 2021. This is due to the severe level of disruption and uncertainty that is posed by the situation. The Better Mapping and Map Curators' Group event will now take place in 2021. The BCS Annual Awards will also be awarded in 2021 and will include both the 2020 and 2021 entries. In the meantime, we are working to make material available online for members to enjoy. During these difficult times, I do hope that you and those close to you remain well and, where relevant, working from home. Our thanks and gratitude go to all contributing to essential services during these events. As you will have heard, we took the difficult decision to cancel this year’s conference. Given the recent government warnings that restrictions may need to be in place until at least the end of September, we believe that that remains the prudent course of action. I would though like to take an opportunity to assure you of the Society’s continuing activities and resources. Now may b ..read more
