Betty Blight comes from the old shipyard of Portsmouth. She moved to the port of Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 2005, where she played with postpunk female group Las Kellies. She then translated her songs of lost love and strange stories into cumbia as Betty Confetti. When the late nights became too much in 2019, she set sail for the safety of England. She can now be found in Bristol, writing folk songs about odd people and nobility. This month she’s releasing the song Runt, shortly to be followed by Lady Betty and Little One. https://bettyblight.bandcamp.com/ The post Betty Blight appeared first ..read more

Dan Weltman

Dan Weltman is the lead singer and songwriter with Bristol’s best kept secret Snails, whose second LP ‘Hard-Wired’ recently graced the 6 Music airwaves via Gideon Coe’s show. His forthcoming solo record paints from a more acoustic palette, with fingerstyle folk and country / americana among the influences jostling for position behind his heart-on-sleeve torch songs, all dissecting the highs and lows of human relationships. His plaintive, beautifully honed songwriting aims for the coat tails of Dylan and Cohen, but often reaches into the top pocket. https://www.theundergrowth.co.uk/dan-weltman ..read more
