The storms we received over the last two weeks made fishing at Pyramid Lake very good. The Truckee River experienced increased flows and now looks to settle around 500cfs at the Reno gauge. Looking forward, we have a a stretch warm weather and little precipitation. Look for the Truckee River BWO hatch to continue and for fishing to improve.

Winter storms have impacted our region with water and wind. Short term impacts will play into long term benefits. Luckily weather is moving out for the next week or so and we anticipate fishing conditions will improve quickly. The lake has been fishing well during the storms giving up quite a few big fish.
Pyramid Lake
What a change a few weeks can make. The lake surface temperatures have come up 5 degrees, and the midge bite is on! Indicator fishing has proven to be the best technique as of late, with a few fish coming on the strip on overcast days. I think the water needs to warm up just a l ..read more

KTMB allows us to use our rafts to access the trash and litter that has accumulated in the channel over the past year. We need to ask the angling community to come out and help. The more hands the better. If you want to get involved here are some of the details. If you have a raft and would ..read more

Truckee River
The Truckee River continues to fish well as we slide into Fall. The water dropped a bit this week as the Federal Water Master reduced flow coming out of Lake Tahoe. September is the month that river flows can bounce around a bit. This is largely due to upstream reservoir releases changing as a result of irrigation releases going down and flood control releases increasing. Things should stabilize again as October approaches.
Even with variation in river flows the fishing has been good to great on the Nevada side. Overnight low temps have contributed to happy fish moving around and ..read more
