While visiting Magic Kingdom today, we decided to check in on the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure project briefly. For a more comprehensive update on what’s new in Tiana’s corner of Frontierland, check out our article from a couple of days ago. In this article, we want to draw your attention to two things in particular. First, there is a new hot sauce mural near the gift shop. Back in mid-March, Disney World offered a first look at the all-new Main Street USA Cast Member costumes. The watercraft service that takes guests around the Disney Springs shopping center and area resorts has been suspended due to low water levels. Orlando is experiencing below-average rainfall totals year-to-date, and it looks like water levels in the Disney Springs lake and connected waterways are some 6-12″ below where they should be. Service was suspended recently, and is largely dependent on rainfall before it can resume. In addition to the closure and refurbishment of the Stormalong Bay pool area, Disney World has announced that there will be a room refurbishment for “some guest rooms” at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort in early 2025. The work will begin in January 2025 and run through May 2025. Following an initial rollout of Star Tours merchandise earlier this month, a Starspeeder 1000 die-cast vehicle has been added to the lineup – about a month ahead of schedule. According to media in attendance at a Star Tours event, the Starspeeder 1000 die-cast vehicle wasn’t expected to be available until late May. At the beginning of last month, there was a character lineup change at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Daisy stopped the physically distanced meet and greet to join Donald Duck, and Chip & Dale started meeting with guests again after a 7-month pause. Other changes in early March included Max Goof moving back to Grand Avenue to meet with Goofy. While visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios earlier today, we noticed that the refurbishment of the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular marquee has wrapped up, and all of the scaffolding has been removed. The work took just over a month. The refurbishment seemed to be mainly focused on the Indiana Jones stunt double, and not so much on the lettering, which appears to have been untouched during the refurb.
