I need a good gym that will teach from the basics. ( I am a full beginner) It has to not be a „soft“ or „modern“ gym. I’m sure you understand. submitted by /u/Salt_Ear7436 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Blue belt tomorrow. 9am-2pm. The other 3 belts were an exhausting hell. Wish me luck!

Been training for 3 years. Our belts are generally preceded by a workshop that are 5 hours long as well. So, for example, Friday night will be the workshop and then Sunday will be the test. Blue, for us, is mostly focused on pistols, knives, and sticks mixed with everything else we've learned. submitted by /u/ForsakePariah [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How do you take shadow boxing and combatives more seriously?

I'm taking my level 1 KM test soon and one of the things tested is how we respond with combatives after a drill, which is a lot like shadow boxing but on a partner. I find shadow boxing awkward enough but I struggle even more when I'm air fighting someone and am having a hard time getting into it. Any tips on how to make it more real for me? submitted by /u/HitRefresh34 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hey all, I'm a 27 year old male that has been practicing Krav for the past few months and really enjoyed it! I'm also a full time police officer. I currently am trying to formulate or find a workout routine with 1-2 days dedicated to Krav weekly, 2-3 days to general fitness, and one day dedicated to firearms training. Any advice on frequency, routine, etc would be great. I enjoy weightlifting and have a gym membership, but I find doing workouts over 30-45 minutes more that 3 times a week quickly becomes unfeisable for me. Thanks for all the help, have a great day, and be safe! submitted by ..read more

Hello and Greetings, I need your esteemed suggestions. I am contemplating learning Krav Maga, however I am worried as I had a history of Rheumatoid Arthritis since my teen years but its subsided now (vanished, If I dare say). However, I have little joint pains and some restricted mobility in wrist and fingers. I am 44M. So, is it safe to learn this now, please guide. submitted by /u/Mavericinme [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Taking my first Krav class this week. I already have a history of martial arts, but is there anything Krav-specific I should know?

Changing gyms because I need to train somewhere closer to home because of a changed work schedule. New place is a Krav / BJJ school. I've been doing HEMA for about 8 years, I'm a blue belt in BJJ, and I've got about 3 years of Muay Thai experience, so combat sports aren't a new thing for me, but this is my first time training somewhere that does mostly Krav. Anything about Krav culture that's different than what I might be used to? Any faux pas to avoid? What can I expect out of sparring? submitted by /u/Spider_J [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hey ya'll, I've been training krav and BJJ for about 2 months. So far, it's been great. I'm a woman who needs to learn self-defense skills, and (I thought) I was making progress, especially never having never done martial arts before. My academy offers both beginner-level and advanced classes. All levels are allowed to join a weekly sparring class, but almost none of the other beginners go. Well, last night I sparred for the first time. The other students and instructors were super welcoming, and I do feel like I learned a lot, but I was basically useless in a fight scenario and I feel really ..read more

Paying for optional advanced classes?

I’ve been doing Krav since 2021. I moved, and I just started at a new gym. They offer advanced classes that are OPTIONAL. You can still rank up even if you only do the regular program. Just wanted to make that clear. The advanced classes include Judo, weapons disarms, a couple of classes during the work day that don’t work with my schedule at all, and a fight club that develops sparring techniques. I’m particularly interested in the fight club because I’m pretty bad at sparring since no one really explained it to me lol. The fight club spends one month on stand-up fighting, one month on groun ..read more

I need a martial art that will help me with cardio training and won't end up in any damage to my raspiratory system, will Krav Maga do?

So, background. I'm 15M, 168cm and 49kg weight. I plan to go to an Air Force University in my country, and found out that applicants are immediately declined if they did any sports that could result in raspiratory injuries (Boxing, and most full-contact martial arts). From what I found about Krav Maga, injuries in civilian version are rare and it's a good way to train cardio. My main reason to learn is fitness first, self-defence second. There is a certified instructor in my city, but he currently teaches Muay Thai, which I'm also unsure about, because of the frequent injuries to the face tha ..read more
