I loved this 1981 Mel McDaniel song as a kid. It was on the radio constantly. It’s so innocently happy, funny, catchy, and endearing at the same time. One of my favorite aspects of songwriting is when you give another songwriter an idea and then you get to see where they take it. It is NEVER what you expect.
