Dart Review by Ralf M. Datadart Jocky Wilson 95% 20g Steel Tip Darts Lots of recently released darts use the word Legend in the name. These are named after a true legend of our sport.  I haven’t put these down since I first took them out of the pack. Jocky Wilson is yet another identity from the past, a character who played against legends like Eric Bristow and John Lowe.  Datadarts have released these in a number of weights 20, 22, 24, 26 & 28g. They are all 48.6 mm in length with the diameter varying from 5.9mm to 6.8mm. The images available show the gr ..read more

Dart Accessory Review by Ralf M. Mission Restore Brush Cleaning Kit I am a stickler for cleanliness in particular in these trying times, and these brushes are the solution to many evils.  Dirty darts are a result of many things, sweaty hands, grip compounds, chalk, food and the list goes on. The grip profiles of your darts get clogged with dirt and you lose the potency and effectiveness of your grip, they slip out of your hands and you make a mess of your intended target.  I have used these regularly on my darts and my partner’s darts. For painted darts I stick with the nyl ..read more

Dart Shaft Review by Ralf M. Mission Carbon Shafts While shafts are “consumables” everyone wants to get the best bang for their buck. For me they need to suit my darts, they need to be value for money; they need to be hard to destroy. I have tried many different styles and brands of shafts, too many to list here. I get a little tired of constant “robin hooding” and destroying shafts.  The Mission Carbon Shafts appear to be a alternative to regular shafts, they have a smaller than average footprint at the flight end making it harder to Robin Hood them, if you a spring ring, it provides rei ..read more

Dart Review by Ralf M. Mission Paradox M2 22g  Mission has released a dart in this case that is true to its name. This is a really nice looking dart. Torpedo shaped barrel, red & black on silver colouring, unusual ring profile, but a nice grip.  The paradox being, they looked the part, but, I could not throw these with any kind of consistency no matter how hard I tried.  I tried the Mission Komodo and was impressed with the level of grip, ease of throw, and above all the consistency and grouping I could get fresh out of the pack.  In this case I found that beyond the go ..read more

Dart Review by Ralf M. Legend Darts Eric Bristow 23g Knurled Steel Tip Darts Eric Bristow, an amazing man, who had an incredible career as a dart player.  He played with and against many other legendary Dart players of the era and was World Champion 4 times in the 1980s. I remember him for his dart grip, in particular the cocked pinkie on his right hand when he aimed. Eric is one of the greatest dart legends of all time. He went through the ups and downs of the sport during his career and, mentored a player who would become the world’s greatest Dart Player to date - Phil Taylor. The dart ..read more

Review by Ralf M. Target RVB95 Gen3 23g Steel Tip Darts I actually paid a lot of money for a set of RVB Legacy darts when Barney retired.  A whole bunch of us had booked a table to see him when he was coming to Australia, and the only thing that came here was Covid-19. There went the Autograph plan! And Now Target have released the RVB95 Gen3. The barrels are about 51mm long and 6.7mm in diameter, but they don't feel long or thin. I was initially a bit ho-hum about new Barney darts but, when I got hold of them, well, it was different. The barrels themselves are the same design as the ..read more

Review by Ralf M. Target Swiss Points 26mm & 30mm The Swiss point System is a Target Darts product (read innovation). When the Swiss point ranges of darts were first released I was a little undecided as to where they fitted into the whole dart sport. My initial opinion was that they were a little “kitschy”, a new fad that had little purpose and no future in the sport, they would fade away. The reviews on various Forums, and the feedback that I read, spoke of breakages and other catastrophes. I think from what I read a lot of the catastrophes were conditional. By that I mean, colder we ..read more

Review by Ralf M. Deadeye 3 Dart Case Where do I start? The Outside dimensions are 17cm x 18cm x 11cm. The out case is nylon, with a central Zipper and carry handles, not an overly large footprint by any stretch of the imagination. Opening it up the case is split neatly in the centre. The dart storage section is secured with a Velcro tab so that your precious arrows are kept safe and secure. The divider has 6 pockets that can be used to hold flights and shafts. The storage side of the case had 2 sections each containing a “tube” to hold accessories. A square tube that will hold flights su ..read more

Red Dragon Peter Wright Snakebite Black Strike Darts - 24gms

Review by Ralf M. Yep, Peter Wright has changed his darts like a lot of people change their clothes. The Black Strikes are probably one of my favorite Peter Wright Darts. They are short, Black and well balanced with a round tapered nose. They are just less than 44mm long and less than 8mm in diameter so treble placement will leave room for following darts. The Grip point starts about 18mm from the nose of the dart and is about 15mm long. The Grip is a series of 5 double rings, with 6 equally space radial groves, the barrel tapers away to meet the Nitro Shaft. There are a series of 5 mini ..read more

Review by Ralf M. I don’t remember the first time I heard about Phil Taylor, I do remember some of the unbelievable games that he played. From the time he played with another brand till now he has helped design some incredible darts. The Power 9Five Gen6 is a return to the style of dart of the 9Five Gen3 (one of my favorites). These are about 44mm long and the grip profile is in 3 distinct areas. Sporting a tapered nose with 7 grooves on the nose, a short smooth section and another section with a fine purist grip machined in the centre of the dart. The rear third of the barrel is a smooth ..read more
