Sandy was in Inman, SC for the latest installment of America's longest running cup series, the NC/SC Ladies Challenge Cup. The Greenville girls hosted the ladies from Charleston, SC in a battle of the two most successful teams in the series which is now in it's 42 year.
The match was played at the Lake Bowen Country Club which graciously filled in to host the match after a scheduling conflict with the normal location came up. It's been a while since Sandy played a full blown schedule, but after years of traveling and 2 knee surgeries she has sure slowed down. The start of the year used to be a hectic few months and it started out that way in January with 3 tournaments and 2 National Championships. But when Sandy was able to get away for a day trip to Pineville, NC for the first Cinco de Mayo tournament it was her first tournament since January.

The busy, crazy, mediocre, exhausting month of January is finally over. The last few weeks have taken it's toll but she was excited to come to a nearby tournament she loves who were hosting their first 2 Nationals.
Sandy had a full schedule leading up to the Target-USSDA 501 Nationals but was able to scramble to get there for the start. She won her bracket but was having trouble gripping her darts, which would be a theme for the whole weekend. She reached the Finals but wasn't playing well, congrats to Amanda Preciado who was clutch on doubles throughout the match.

What can you say about Las Vegas that hasn't already been said? This was Sandy 16th straight trip to the Las Vegas Open and these events seem to get harder each year. This year the plan was to play less events and enjoy more time with family members who accompanied us to Sin City.
She started with the ADO Cricket National Championship on Thursday where she won her bracket and advanced to the Final 8 knockout round. Sandy was in Wellford, SC for the first NC/SC Ladies Challenge Cup match of the season. This is the longest running Cup series in American dart history, now in it's 42nd year. She and her GGDG teammates hosted the Apex, NC Ladies team which is Captained by a good friend, Angela Jeffcoat.
The girls had a fun day of darts and fellowship and in the end Greenville successfully defended the Cup. Her teammates in the day were Haley Scott, Teresa Cepek, Gin Carlton, Leanne Avellino, Amy Patterson and Ashlee Woodbeck. Sandy started her season off in a familiar place, at Blue Rocks in Pineville, NC. The Celebrate the New Year tournament is a regular stop on her schedule but this year was a bit different. She couldn't come on Saturday due to family plans but made the trip up to play Sunday.
Once she got there she settled in and ended up winning all 3 events she played in even though she had to scramble to find partners. Sandy finished the 2022 season close to home at the Darting for Christmas tournament held by the SCDO. The event raises money to buy under privileged children toys for Christmas. The holiday season is always so busy for Sandy and she doesn't always get to make time for darts but this year it all worked out and she was happy to attend.

Sandy was in Wellford, SC at Darts for Arch over the weekend and enjoyed quite a bit of success. She had a long work day on Friday but stopped in and played in the 301 and Done event on Friday but lost to Chris Chism in the second round, it would prove to be her only loss of the weekend.
She teamed up with Doug Wade and won both 501 and Cricket Mixed Doubles on Saturday. She played with Kay Hoover and they won both Ladies Doubles events on Saturday and Sunday. Sandy returned to Myrtle Beach, SC for the 3rd time this year. After being cancelled the last 2 years the event was rebranded this year following the death of their visionary promoter of darts, RIP Bud Grazioli, you will forever be our ghost on the coast.
In Mixed Doubles, Sandy teamed up with Hossey Hicks for the 2nd time this year. But they never quite hit their stride and were out before the money rounds in both 501 and Cricket. Sandy was in Myrtle Beach, SC for the USSDA 501 National Championship and Saltwater Classic. On Friday she won her 4th USSDA 501 National Championship topping Camilla Bunnell in a tough final match. It is the 8th overall National Championship for Sandy in her career.
During the weekend she won the 501 Singles title at the Saltwater Classic for her 163rd tournament title in her career and 7th this season. She finished Top 4 in Cricket Singles losing to the eventual winner Shea Cole.
