Hey all. I want to get a CBT workbook because my therapist thinks CBT could be helpful for me but she doesn't specialize in it an I don't want to switch to a different therapist or have the resources to do so. There are a ton of CBT workbooks online and I'm wondering if there are some that are either made by scientists or therapists, not just pop psychology? Unfortunately I don't trust most of the ones I see recommended by Amazon since CBT and therapy in general has gained mainstream attention recently, so there might be people with no professional expertise just making up cbt books to get a ..read more

What should I tell myself

I've always struggled with self-esteem, setting boundaries and getting stressed out for trivial reasons. I'm trying to get better but it's a daily struggle. I feel really down on a recent incident and would appreciate if someone can help me think rightly through this. I was supposed to travel out of state for a business meeting (not super critical, can be done remote) and due to a personal issue I cannot go. The personal matter is not serious but if I hadn't taken care of it, I would not have peace of mind. The manager of the department I was supposed to meet called me up and showed extreme d ..read more

Hi, so I've realized that as important as it is for me to feel loved,I neeed to feel Seen even more. The issue is with both of these I feel a lack as I never experienced it in my childhood or growing up . And I really don't want to depend on a connection with someone else in order to feel that way. Are there some ways to feel "Seen" through CBT ..like see yourself ,if that makes sense? submitted by /u/Odd-Fortune6021 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Breaking the belief that I am too good to make mistakes or need help

I was one of the "gifted" kids. Things usually come easy to me. So when they don't, or I make dumb mistakes, or when I need help, I get very anxious. I know it's not reasonable. I'm currently having a lot of anxiety over a test I handed in without answering a question. I just somehow missed it. It happens, right? I've made plenty of dumb mistakes that didn't matter. I've seen people I consider to be very intelligent make dumb mistakes. I know my emotions serve a purpose, but when the anxiety continues to create mistakes and take my focus away from what I should be doing, it is harmful and sho ..read more

TDLR - I'd love feedback on my app. I hope it's ok to post this. I DM'ed the mods a while ago but didn't get a reply yet. I created a mobile app to help practice CBT. It's built upon an abandoned open source CBT app but is quite different from it now. Recently, I launched version 2.0 which includes several new features. The one I'm most excited about is an "AI help" (yes, AI again..) that analyses your automatic thought, then identifies and explains the cognitive distortions in it. For the English speaking users there are many CBT apps, most are better than mine. Mine was created mainly as an ..read more
