Looking to go to Korea (ICN) with MR Points

I am having trouble finding award availability for business class to Seoul from DFW. I have found one stop flights from DFW but requiring 400k+ MR points (Delta transfer). I have scoured transfer partner sites and used pointdotme but I have been quite unsuccessful in finding anything reasonable. ANA ended up being a dud without any business award seats available and tried departing from multiple US cities. It seems like AA and Korean Air would be the best options directly out of DFW... I wouldn't mind departing from another city to ensure a business class seat for a 10+ hour flight Travel dat ..read more

Is it possible to see the point cost for a Miles & More flight? (Lufthansa, Swiss, etc.)

I'm trying to see how many Miles & More points a flight from Paris to Montreal costs. I currently have only 500 points in my account, so when I search the flight I'm simply told: Unfortunately, you do not have enough award miles to book a flight award. To make a booking you require a minimum of 7,000 award miles. You can now earn the missing miles with our numerous partner offers. Well, I'm not going to transfer 6,500 points into Miles & More just to see the price. People in this thread from 5 months ago said you can check prices without an account, but I haven't had any luck with ..read more

Opinion/Assistant with last minute Bangkok trip

I am working on meeting a friend in Bangkok as part of a last minute trip. I normally look at booking things a year in advance as I know how these things can be. I only have experience booking ANA flights and have for obvious reasons been trying to find options elsewhere and have not had much luck. I unfortunately missed out on the JFK>FRA Singapore offer yesterday. That being said here is roughly what I am trying to do. I am looking to fly around May 19th (+/- 1 day) and fly back sometime 6/5-6/8. My home airport is DTW. I looked at repositioning to JFK, ORD, LAX and was not able to find ..read more

British Airways gold member - With an avios award booking on AA flight

I just recently received my BA gold status via status match. Today, I went and booked a AA metal flight on British Airways with avios I did not receive the free checked baggage or the option to choose main cabin extra seats, without having to pay. I chatted with an AA rep and they told me to contact BA since they created the booking. I then chatted with BA and they told me that my status benefits don't apply to basic bookings. I'm confused because when you book award flights on BA for AA metal flights, there is no basic economy option, the lowest option is Main economy. Was this representativ ..read more

Question on Qatar Qsuites

I got into the points game a year ago and finally got enough points to book J class flights from India to DFW with layover in DOH on QR. I am super excited and kind of crazy about Qsuites and have been watching all videos about it. I see from many vloggers that the Qsuites is not guaranteed and could change at anytime. I think it QR changes the airline early on, they wouldn’t give me any change option other than just being able to cancel my reservation and rebook it. But what if it is too close the the departure date or even a day before or on the day of departure? If I ask them to just chang ..read more

Hilton aspirational redemptions outside of Maldives?

Hi all, So I have ~500k Hilton points in my account, and I'm looking to burn them on a 4 night, 5th night free stay. I get how Maldives is one of the best case uses of these points, but it's tough to swing ~24h transit time to get there and then once more on the way back (flying from east coast US). Are there any other redemptions that you guys have made that you felt great about? I've been looking at WA Pedregal but would love some additional suggestions. Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/Flakybeef [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Traveling Field Service Engineer needing advice on the most efficient way to gather reward points/miles

Hi all...I just recently started a new job which entails me traveling heavily to client sites. I am in the Philly area on the east coast, but will be traveling all over the US and ocassuonally Europe. When I do this, my company reimburses all expenses, however, I have the ability to pay on my own card/use my own accounts to book. I was just wondering If anyone had insight on the way to maximize my reward benefits? Talking to others in my position, the common practice seems to be joining a specific hotel chain and airline reward program, along with getting a travel card to pay for it all. I am ..read more
