It is always wonderful to hear from grandparents who have been reunited with their  adult children and grandchildren, it is amazing to be able to share in that moment of joy with them. Today I heard the very sad news of the passing of a wonderful lady. Anne O’Regan worked tirelessly and continuously for all of us who are estranged/alienated from our children/grandchildren. She was a true campaigner on so many subjects, she was a voice for injustices, today the light have gone out for so many. This is a question that all group leaders should ask themselves constantly. Many years ago a grandparent said to me, I don’t want to join a support group if it is going to make me feel worse than I do already. Those words are constantly in my mind. Of course everyone who attends a support group will be looking for something different, and it may be that we don’t offer what everyone is looking for.
