Archiving Data, not so fast!
Salesforce Weekly

In today’s data-driven world, businesses are generating a vast amount of data, including customer records, transaction history, and more. (Don’t get me started with LLMs.) Managing this data efficiently is key for the smooth operation of your Salesforce environments, storage capacity, energy consumption and also data retention regulations. That’s where data archival comes into play. As you may know I do spend a bit of time everyday in the ‘answers community’. That is how (many years ago) I got into the Salesforce Trailblazer Community. So I try to spend a bit of time there everyday. And I’ve s ..read more

Preparation for the Salesforce Certified Data Architect Exam
Salesforce Weekly

It’s been at the back of my mind for a while, as for me this certification was the last missing to acquire from the Application Architect path (as it happened to be that I also have the ‘optional’ Experience Cloud cert). Having quite a lot going on at the moment and craving some headspace was the trigger the other day for me to say “Well, I may as well give it a go; hopefully it will get out of the back of my mind once and for all”. I’d learn either way, thats for sure! And this happened… Celebrating news: 2 x 1 After much procrastination on jumping into the #Salesforce Data Architect exam ..read more

Disclosure & Compliance in Net Zero Cloud
Salesforce Weekly

We briefly covered Net Zero Cloud in the past, in fact is not a single cloud but a huge, multi-industry thing if you ask me. As part of explaining this: https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.netzero_cloud_dev_guide.meta/netzero_cloud_dev_guide/netzero_cloud_data_model.htm :O What I’d like to cover today is Disclosure and Compliance Hub. Which is a module within Net Zero Cloud for you to do exactly that: essentially this enables you to extract data, answer questions, collaborate with users, and generate disclosures. This matters as more and more clarity and transparency on Environm ..read more

Trailblazer Calling, at London & beyond

London’s Calling, the annual Salesforce community-led event, once again surpassed expectations, delivering an exceptional experience that left attendees hungry for more. Thanks, everyone… it was A BLAST! Same time next year? pic.twitter.com/eGgiv1rv6m — Londons Calling (@LDNsCall) June 10, 2022 One thing that I’m a big fan of about London’s Calling is that every year the team ‘takes it up a notch’. Meaning there is no copy-paste from one year to the next, but instead an aim to enhance it with items that matter. This year’s edition brought some noteworthy additions, enhancing the event’s alr ..read more

Summer, Summer, ONE 2 3! (Release Time)

The Salesforce Summer ’23 Release Notes are here! Here some of the things that have caught my attention: Perm Sets get Field Access! Now we’ll be able to set Set Field Level Security on Permission Sets instead of Profiles during field creation or edit making it easier to use permission sets over profiles. This matters as it further helps to decouple field permissions from profiles, which are always rather fiddly elements to deploy. Flows get External Data! Extend your declarative automations with a HTTP Callout GET method, yes! This is aimed to easily and declaratively automate Salesforc ..read more

Dreamin’ season is back!

We wrote before about the community-led conferences, and it feels like this year they are full on. And I’m talking about this year as if just started, but in fact we are already in Q2! I love community events, and highly recommend attending them. Firstly because the content is spot on, not revised by legal or marketing; the content in these events comes from honest hands-on experience. Second because you get the opportunity to fill your notes of actionable items you can put in place from next day. Third because it creates a space to connect and re-connect. If you haven’t yet looked at your c ..read more

Salesforce MFA with Azure Active Directory
Salesforce Weekly

This is a story of a smooth MFA transition. Smoother than what we all thought possible. And as with any story we shall start with… Once upon a time, my colleague Mike (aka Agent Gill) and I were working on a project that involved a transition to Azure Active Directory for email client and SSO across applications. This time, we had the privilege of working on this project with yet another Salesforce MVP Hall of Fame member, Natalie Gunther. Natalie championed the enablement of Salesforce MFA with Azure Active Directory set up as SSO for a Salesforce internal app, so we knew we were in good hand ..read more

Demystifying Net Zero Cloud

I often see confusion around this cloud, and with the rename and the many improvements it has had over the releases I thought why not try to shed some light? Why me? For the ones that may not know, beside all things Salesforce and Agile, my focus is to help organisations to reduce waste. Waste of time, effort, energy, money, materials… I’m a Circular Economy professional (Cambridge), Biomimicry Practitioner, wrote a book about Sustainability and business, part of the Agile Alliance Sustainability Initiative, and I support my village with a ‘re-wilding’ program, being the designated represent ..read more
