This Saturday me and my Geeky Gals went to Scandinavia’s largest retro gaming convention, Retrospelsmässan in Gothenburg! Like last year we got to host a Tetris competition in Super Tetris 3 for Super Famicom, and this year we also held a tournament in GoldenEye 007 for Nintendo 64 :D You can read more about the competitions on Geeky Gals blog, meanwhile here’s some pics the convention :) Since I left my little girl at home with her dad I couldn’t stay at the convention much longer than the duration of the contests we hosted, but I did get a few minutes to quickly scour the market ..read more

My absence is only temporary, I’m still playing retro games, buying retro games and collecting retro games. I’m slowly getting more time on my hands so I can hopefully blog more about my retro video games! I have been keeping up my instagram though. Those of you who follow me on there might have noticed the reason for my absence being my 5 month old baby girl ^_^ I can’t wait for her to grow up and play video games with me! I’m gonna teach her everything I know! :D They grow really fast! She’ll be handling a game pad in no time! XD ..read more

Even though I just spent a few hours at the retro game convention Retrospelsfestivalen this year, I still managed to pick up a couple of games for various systems ^_^ First of all, I’m super happy to have such good friends in the retro community that thinks of me when they find an unusual edition of Tetris :D Thanks Andreas for finding it for me ^_^ Retro Bit Bros had this Swedish Yapon rental edition of Tetris for the NES for sale and they put it aside for me :) It’s a beauty! A great addition to my Tetris collection ^_^ At their table I also found two Sachen games that I’ve never encounter ..read more

Last weekend I visited Retrospelsfestivalen in Malmö. A retro gaming convention in the south of Sweden that is now running for the fourth year in a row. This year they had changed the venue to a place called Inkonst. I really liked this new venue, they had used the stage downstairs for the marketplace which was awesome. So many retro games for sale, awesome sellers and tidy tables filled with retro gaming goodness ^_ ..read more

There’s always a few things that you find particularly cool, that are extra entertaining or that you just hold a strong nostalgic value too. I always enjoyed Tetris games and the Castlevania games so I have of course always collected games in those series when I see them :) Another one of these series that I find particularly interesting is He-Man! I loved the animated He-Man series when I was a kid back in the 80s ^_^ GE MIG KRAFTEN GRÅSKULL!!! (yes I watched the dubbed Swedish versions of Masters of the Universe XD). It wasn’t until recently that I encountered a video game based on He-Man, a ..read more

This year at Retrospelsmässan I actually had a table shared with my friend Cleareyes where I spent half the time selling some of my doubles. I also spent time on the Tetris competition that I was hosting, so I didn’t get much time to shop around. There were LOADS of games for sale this year! I wish I had more time to scour through everything! But I did manage to find a few cool things :) First up are some really nice Japanese Sega Mega Drive games! The Swedish Pong champion, Barkis, was selling off his personal collection. I managed to score Gleylancer, Splatterhouse Part 3 and Awes ..read more

This year we finally got to attend Retrospelsmässan again, Sweden’s largest retro gaming convention! Thanks to Sven666 and Quartex who revived the franchise :) It was a blast as always, and bigger than ever! They used a larger venue, and this year there were finally not a single issue regarding the queues! Good job guys! :D I had a table shared with a my friend Cleareyes this year, where I sold off some of my doubles. I was also given the task of arranging a Tetris competition during the afternoon :) I had picked out a Tetris game and a way of competing that wouldn’t be too time consumin ..read more

I visited sci-fi world in Malmö this weekend with my Geeky Gals, it was a blast as usual :) We got to see a life size Jabba the Hut and have our picture taken with him XD Apart from all the sci-fi and cosplay there were loads of retro games at this years convention, more than usual! Most of it was fairly over priced though.. :/ But I managed to get a good deal with Quartex ^_^ I got two Super Nintendo games, Super Punch-Out and Disney’s the Jungle Book. Super Punch-Out was NTSC, but I have an NTSC SNES now so that’s fine :) I also got a few Game Boy games. Three Game Boy Color games: Th ..read more

This is part 1 of my Retro Gathering l00t :) I will go through everything bit by bit once I’m done sorting and cleaning stuff ^_^ As you might have seen on my Instagram it was quite a large haul XD So let’s start off with all my Atari related pickups! I found quite a few Atari 2600 games thanks to my friend nesfrk who pointed out to me the big box of Atari carts that was hiding under a table that I had missed! I ended up buying 22 Atari 2600 games in total, and many of them were in different shapes and sizes. I haven’t really read up a lot about these, but it started fascinating me a ..read more

I usually get games in the mail on a weekly basis, but I rarely feel like I have the time to make a full scale blog post about them, but I thought I might make some shorter posts as well just showing what has arrived ^_^ The collecting is constant! Haha :D But I have quite a pile of games to go through that I haven’t had the time to try out yet.. :/ Mainly because I’ve been super busy with work.. but I’ll get through them eventually ^_^ Today I had a parcel in the mail with some Amiga CD32 games that I bought from eBay. I’ve told myself not to buy a bunch of CD games and focus on cartridg ..read more
