Anyone know if getting your first name changed is an ordeal with VA benefits? Only first name will be changed. Not hiding from the law or anything, just an old life to new life thing

So, I recently took a job as a DOD civilian. I have a disability rating and part of the screening was an occupational health exam on base.
I think I misunderstood some of the questions on the exam. I remember one of the questions was "since my last examination have there been changes in medical history" and then it preceded to have a list of medical conditions which i answered no to. but now reflecting on things, I think it was just asking me in general do i have a history of the conditions. When the doctor examined me, i still was thinking well, since my last exam with the military nothing h ..read more

Hello all, I’ll keep this brief.
Had my first VA visit today and told my NP when I was active they had me on clomid and my T was around 220 prior and 1000ng/dl treated. NP said that’s entirely to high… issue comes up that I’ve gone 3rd party for 200mg injections weekly so I may or may not come out even higher now… anything weird going to come of this? It’s caused no ill effects to my life and blood pressure still comes in leagues better than the average E7 pounding BK daily at his desk.
Sorry for typos or anything phone hates Reddit and gets laggy

Hi all. I was at a small army base near Wahges(spelling?) in Afg in 2013.
Does anyone know the correct spelling of this FOB? And the ODAs in this area at that time? 3XXX?

So I just got off the phone with my VR&E counselor and I got the ball rolling on an electronics request. I'm trying to get an ipad (+ keyboard folio) for class and she mentioned it has to all be within a "reasonable price" and that if its too much it might get rejected. Does anyone know how much is too much or within a reasonable price?

Hello all! Question about adding a dependent child. When I added my newborn recently, the VA used the date of application which happened to be the 1st of the month. But he was born at the beginning of the previous month. Does VA start paying since birth date and prorate or just pay starting the month following birth? Just want to make sure the pay is correct. Thank y’all!

Hi vets, so I received a TPD discharge about 4 years ago. Thankfully my loans were completely forgiven. But as a result, I have been terrified of applying for anything FASFA related even though I qualify for my Pell grant money and I also need to do my FASFA to apply for grants for my masters. Silly question from a paranoid vet, but will opening a FASFA after my TPD discharge cause the money that has been forgiven to "reappear" where I owe my old debt again? Also, do I need to let them know on my FASFA form that I have 100% disability pay?

Medically Retired USAF 31 May 2023
I have been trying to figure out for several years the causes of my quality of life changes. I recently had my doctor order labs to check my testosterone levels and I have a follow up scheduled to go over the results in a couple weeks.
I used to be super active, could never slow down, and had energy for days. I worked out 5-6 times a week regularly and roughly around 26, I started to feel extremely off. I have gone through multiple medical exams to try to find out why, but most doctors associated it as symptoms of depression / sleep issues. Below are my ..read more

UPDATE: Someone replied in another thread that ID.me is currently down and everyone is experiencing the same issues. No need to declare martial law.
I'm having issues with ID.Me. I've been using it for as long as it's been required with no issues, except for today.
When logging in, it says Change Rejected, then prompts me to go to customer support. After going to that, and attempting to submit a ticket, it automatically signs me into another account. At first I thought I was hacked, but looking at the activity I'm not so sure. There's a ton of activity from another state and websites, but zer ..read more
