Hi everyone! We are in Poland and many of the caches are in Polish (I understand it’s their language), I was wondering how do you guys usually go about it to translate them? Any best practices or tips? Thank you!!

Experienced Geocachers probably take these magnetic nuts for granted. But let's be honest, the first time we ever came across one of these hides, the eventual find was one of the most rewarding we'll have ever done.
This is my story about my first ever magnetic nut find.
So, about 4 or 5 years ago, back when I was first starting out in Geocaching, I did my first ever, what I considered at the time, to be truly hard cache, and it was one of these magnetic nuts, but with a twist.
The setup was your classic bridge with metal barriers on each side type deal.
Going into this cache, I had a rou ..read more

This may seem like a silly question but do you sign with your name or you Geocache profile name? Also if you go out with others does everyone sign it?

Don’t participate in the hobby myself, but I do enjoy watching videos of people solving the puzzles, just had a question on cache placement- are there any… I guess “official” rules for where you can/can’t place them, outside of just having the owners permission? Was just curious cause I’ve seen the pictures of them inside meters, or electrical boxes, and just a bit ago I saw a Facebook reel of someone searching some… I think it was a Sprinkler control valve/hydrant thing. Just saw him twisting the bolts/jiggling the valve arms, and couldn’t see anybody possibly approving that location, since ..read more

I'm hoping to go in my first geocaching adventure this weekend! I've been reading everything I can for the past two weeks & trying to gather all my gear. The most important thing I have learned is to always have at least 2 waterproof pens on you at all times so you can sign the log sheet. I did buy some tiny Rite in the Rain spiral notebooks for keeping notes, & I didn't feel like the price was so bad. However, the pens just seem so expensive! I'd like to have at least 2, bc it will be my bf & me, & the cheapest I can find are for around $18. Does any company other than Rite i ..read more

I have a mystery idea using a triangulation between the finals of some mystery caches and want to find good ones if they are in the south of Portugal and archived (because archived caches don't change) it's better.

the property i currently stay on has a geo cache almost no one visits (like one log every 6 months) it’s out in the country and was gone when i tried to find it, so i ignorantly replaced it with a new cache without contacting the owner, and made a note saying i replaced it, then marked DNF, the owner messaged me to saying i should mark it found if i replaced it, so i did, making the last 3 logs all myself.
after quite a few months someone finally found it recently and complimented my recreation of the hide, i felt terrible of it till recently despite the fact the CO hasn’t checked on most the ..read more
